The German will prepare to face his former rivals at Anfield on Tuesday, but will his record come back to haunt him?
Tuesday night, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will welcome his usual rival to Bayern when the two men will face in the first leg of the Champions League round of 32 in Anfield.
The boss of the Reds is certainly no stranger to the giants of the Bundesliga, who have faced them repeatedly as a coach of Mainz and Borussia Dortmund in Germany. On Tuesday, however, he will have a chance to take revenge when he will face his former enemies as Liverpool manager.
In 14 years of career in both clubs, Klopp faced Bayern Munich 29 opportunities in the Bundesliga, in the Champions League and in the German Cup. He lost 16 of those games and won nine, shooting the other four.

His first seven games against the Bavarians took place when he was Mainz's manager between 2004 and 2007, losing six times and making a draw.
After settling in Dortmund in 2008, his first match against Bayern ended on a score of 1-1 and was quickly followed by three defeats. It took him 12 games to record his first win, but that led to five consecutive victories in Dortmund's successful Bundesliga campaign.
Of course, the most important match between Dortmund and Bayern will undoubtedly be the final of the 2013 Champions League.
Bayern and Dortmund, two fierce rivals, clashed in the German Champions League final at Wembley Stadium in London after defeating the Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona in the semi-finals.
Klopp had already led Dortmund to two consecutive Bundesliga titles from 2010 to 2012, momentarily eclipsing Bayern at the top of the standings in Germany. The broken heart was however his in May 2013 when Bayern won 2-1 thanks to goals from Mario Mandzukic and Arjen Robben. Dortmund equalized by a penalty converted by Ilkay Gundogan early in the second half, but Robben scored less than a minute of regulation time to crush Dortmund's heart.
Although his record against Bayern fell after winning the Bundesliga in 2012, his record since 2010 is better than his first 11 games without a win. He has maintained a positive record since the summer of 2010 with eight wins, three draws and seven losses.
