It seems unlikely that Ruben Loftus-Cheek could play 90 minutes when Chelsea will face West Ham on Monday night while he continues to handle a back problem.
The 23-year-old started and scored in the 3-0 win against Brighton and Hove Albion in the middle of the week, but was forced to leave his post before the end of the match because of a problem with hamstrings.
That seems to go, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri revealed that the club continued to handle a back problem that affected Loftus-Cheek throughout the season and was unlikely to last 90 minutes.
Chelsea checks the condition of Loftus-Cheek's back every day and the midfielder has only had one recovery session at Cobham on Friday, while the club is looking to make sure that he is in a position to play Monday night.
Sarri admits he is not worried about the problem and that the Chelsea club doctor is able to control the injury.
"Maybe, but we have to check every day the state of his back. This morning he had only one recovery session because he needs time to recover after a match not able to play for 90 minutes.
"No. I do not think it's a concern, it's a problem, of course, but I think our doctor is able to control the situation."
"Yes a lot, especially tactically, now he is a tactically good midfielder, and at the beginning of the season he was a very offensive midfielder, and now he is full, I think."
