In January, we could never have fully predicted what 2020 has in store for all of us, even the Royal Family. The good news is that 2021 is improving and there are plenty of milestones for the Royal Family in the new year.
100th birthday of the Duke of Edinburgh
He may have retired from public office, but the Duke of Edinburgh is expected to make a special appearance on his 100th birthday on June 10. One wonders if the monarch’s husband also receives a special commemorative birthday card for his big birthday, as the Queen sends to everyone who turns 100? Answers on a postcard.
10th wedding anniversary of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
April 29 marks an entire decade since the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge married at Westminster Abbey in what was one of the most iconic royal weddings of all time. Since 2011, the couple have welcomed three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Perhaps Kate and Wills will mark their milestone with a return trip to their honeymoon destination, the North Island in the Seychelles.
Royal baby arrivals
There are already two royal babies arriving in 2021. Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank announced they were expecting their first child at the start of the new year after sharing the news on Instagram in September 2020, with the caption: ‘Jack and I are so excited for the start of 2021 …’
Most recently, Zara and Mike Tindall confirmed they are welcoming their third child in 2021. Mike shared the good news on the podcast he co-hosted, The Good, the Bad & The Rugby, in December 2020, revealing: “ It’s been a good week for me, had a little scan last week – third Tindall on the way.
The Duchess of Cambridge will also be aunt for the second time as her sister, Pippa, announced she was pregnant with her second child.
