Black Widow is one of the few upcoming projects in the next era of the Marvel film universe. The film has been filming for over a month abroad with the director Cate Shortland (Berlin Syndrome, Lore) at the helm and Scarlett Johansson Back in the lead role when the SHIELD agent became Avenger. But even though the film is currently in production, the details have remained secret. Fortunately, Marvel Studios finally pulled the curtain at San Diego Comic-Con.
Find out what we learned from the Black Widow Comic-Con board below.
Black Widow Footage
Cate Shortland, director, and Scarlett Johansson, cast members David Harbor, Florence Pugh, O.T. Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz appeared on the scene to talk about Black Widow, which is still in production in London. But the next solo movie of everyone's favorite killer has enough footage to show a teaser that was quickly screened for an electrified audience. Here's what we saw from the images below.
A glimpse of Natasha's past invades the teaser, scouring the memories of her killer's academy Avengers: the era of Ultron. "I made a family," says Natasha, while the sequence leads her to turn Captain America: Civil Warwhen she decided to let Captain America escape instead of capturing him. "They come for you," warns Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), as she flees … setting the stage for Black Widow, which apparently takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War.
In Budapest, Natasha cautiously climbs into an old building from the beginning of the century with a sumptuous staircase but patinated walls. Upon entering an apartment, she points her gun and calls Yelena saying, "We are adults here." Yelena from Florence Pugh appears from the corner, pointing her gun. They stand a few inches away, guns in each other's face for several seconds before disarming, the camera showing their graceful parallel movements – obviously students from the same school. The dirty and tactile fight reminds the Bourne films, especially in its dim light and intense close-ups. Finding their usual tactics too well matched, their fight is rough and brutal, Natasha pushing Yelena's head into a sink and Yelena breaking a plate on Natasha's head and eventually using knives. They find themselves in several dead ends, until both have been placed in dampers with the curtains of the apartment. After a blackout, they are shown drinking.
"It's a pleasure to see you too," Natasha said, handing Yelena a drink.
The teaser leads to several car chases, Natasha sneaking into the streets of Eastern Europe. We quickly have solemn images of brutal images and fearsome silhouettes. "I got rid of my big book," says Natasha, though it seems she has not been completely cleared of her past. The trailer ends as Natasha is stuck behind a burning car on a bridge, a hooded man attacking him in the middle of the street. The hooded uniform and its sleek design with red lining resembles that of Taskmaster, a Marvel villain who would have recently made his appearance Black Widow. But who is under the costume?
Black Widow takes place while she is a "fully realized woman"
The actors and the team arrived from London this morning to talk about the movie.
"I think that's what brought me to the story, it's that she has so many secrets and her vulnerability and that's what makes her so great." heroin, "said Shortland. "In this film, we understand her past and she has to put all her pieces together and get a whole person out of it."
But it's important to know that this is not a precedent, but a movie that takes place after Natasha is a "fully realized woman" after the events of Captain America: Civil War.
"I do not think I could have played this iteration of Natasha 10 years ago, it would be a very different film," Johansson said. "I can play Natasha as a fully realized woman in all its facets, and I'm excited to see the fans to see what she sees as her flawed side. And I try to eliminate this red in my book. "
Harbor hinted that his character, Alexei (aka The Red Guardian), had "complicated feelings about [Captain America] However, Yelena is a "sister figure of Natasha," said Pugh, while Fagbenle plays Mason, an old Natasha contact before working for SHIELD, with a potential love interest. Sorry, Hulk. "There is a fascinating relationship, but there is a romantic current," said Fagbenle. "Well, more on my side, but it's hard to have a relationship when you have a crush on an international killer."
Meanwhile, the mysterious Melina de Weisz is a "pretty tough girl", but the actress was dumb about what she was, exactly. But perhaps a clue is that the hooded silhouette we saw in this sequence was rather thin.
following Captain MarvelThis is the second film in the Marvel Film Universe to give a female character her own solo feature film. Fans call for a movie of Black Widow since the character was introduced into The Iron Man 2and they finally get what they want. But will this story be satisfying enough to satisfy fans who were not happy with the fate of the character in Avengers: End of the game? Will this film give us something that enhances his character and sets the stage for what will happen in the next phase of the MCU? We will know it soon enough.
Black Widow should be released in theaters on May 1, 2020.
