On its own FAQ page, WhatsApp now explains that the use of unauthorized clones of the app may result in a temporary suspension of the account. It explicitly addresses two modified versions of WhatsApp, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store on Android smartphones. Those are "WhatsApp Plus"and"GB WhatsAppBoth of these applications are copies of WhatsApp that have been expanded by a few options.
If you use one of these apps, WhatsApp says that it may be interesting to receive an in-app message informing you that your account has been "temporarily suspended". Indeed, WhatsApp does not support these unofficial applications because they violate the WhatsApp usage terms and WhatsApp can not verify their security practices. If your account has been suspended, you must download the original application to continue using WhatsApp.
However, it is advisable to save the old history of the discussions in advance so as not to lose it during the modification. How it works exactly is explained on the WhatsApp website.
