A host of Liverpool players will be in international service this summer, but without World Cup or Euros, only a handful could have a delayed return to Melwood.
Once the curtain closed on the celebrations of the Reds after their victory in the European Cup, a contingent of Liverpool made up of 19 people took off to join their respective national teams before a series of international summer.
The duration of the international player service period varies considerably, with some players scheduled for only two games, while others will play during the summer in the African Cup or Copa America.
Although Liverpool has not yet officially confirmed its return for preparatory training, it is expected that it is near 4th July With Tranmere Rovers is scheduled for July 11th.
This means that the Reds will see a selection of players return to the club at a later date, each player being entitled to a break of three weeks minimum from their last international match.
Significantly, the qualifiers for the 2020 European Championship and the League of Nations should resume training at the same time as those who were not on an international mission.
He ensures that players like Virgil van Dijk, Gini Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Alexander Trent-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Xherdan Shaqiri will be back in training right from the start of the League of Nations on June 9th.
A similar schedule is in place for Andy Robertson, Dejan Lovren, Divock Origi, Harry Wilson and Ben Woodburn at the end of their commitments to their country on June 11.
Jurgen Klopp's most urgent concern, however, will be when Alisson, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita will make their comeback.
The commitment of the Brazilian duo in Copa America does not specify the exact date of their return.
An exit in the group stage could allow the two comebacks to return to Liverpool on July 14, but a race until the final would delay that until the training camp of the Reds in France on July 28.
This is the trio of Salah, Mane and Keita, however, which presents itself as the biggest source of worry before the new campaign.
If an Egyptian, Senegalese or Guinean player qualifies for the CAN final, they will not return to their club until August 9 – one day before the start of the new season and five weeks after the majority of their teammates.
After an intense club-level campaign, where Salah and Mane played the most minutes of their career, the best scenario for Liverpool would be an exit before the final to make sure they're ready for the beginning of 2019/20. season.
The first arrival of the African trio in Merseyside would be July 22 if their team did not qualify for the group stage and that from then on, their return could extend from July 26 to August 9th.
