NDP presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama joined the family and bereaved on Thursday to attend the traditional one-week ceremony of the late Dr. Kwabena Adjei, former Congress President. National Democratic Party (NDC).

Mr. Adjei was a member of Biakoye, former Minister of Agriculture and former majority leader in Parliament. He died on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the age of 76 years.

Present at the ceremony were the main members of the CND led by the party's founder and former president, Jerry John Rawlings, the vice president of the Alhaji Council of Former Mahama Iddrisu, the former Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, the CDN President, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, Secretary General, Johnson Aseidu. Nketia and the second vice-speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.

The others were the majority leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu, former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, Mr. Ato Ahwoi, Professor Kwamena Ahwoi and the party's national leaders.
The late Dr. Kwabena Adjei will be buried in his home town, Nkonya, in the Volta Region on Saturday, June 1, 2019, after a commemorative ceremony in Accra on May 31, 2019.
