Doni
After leaving Rome in 2011, Doni spent two unforgettable years in Liverpool, where he played four games. The goalkeeper then retired in 2013 due to heart problems.
After his retirement, he finally impressed Anfield by being the first person to recommend Alisson Becker to the club – in 2013.

After the Copa America final, Maicon had lots with Inter Milan, Manchester City, Roma and Avai. The defender recently retired at the age of 37 to play with the Brazilian Criciúma team.
He's probably still having nightmares about Gareth Bale.

Juan
The Brazilian captain had a successful career with Roma and Internacional before retiring after winning the league with Flamengo last season.
Alex
Best known for his thunderous free-kicks, Alex established himself in the first Chelsea team after the tournament, after being loaned to PSV for three years to obtain a work permit.
The central defender met Carlo Ancelotti at PSG in 2012, before joining AC Milan before retiring in 2016.
Gilberto
No, not the one from Arsenal.
The Tottenham flop did not have the same success as its counterpart in North London and spent most of his career in Brazil before retiring in 2012.
He spent 18 months at the Spurs after signing for them in 2008, but the less we talk about it, the better.

Mineiro
Mineiro's performances in the tournament earned him to be transferred to Hertha Berlin and then to Chelsea in 2008. Luiz Felipe Scolari compared Miniero to Claude Makelele but he did not really have the same impact at Stamford Bridge, making only two appearances for the club.
The midfielder went to Schalke and retired in 2012 after playing for TuS Koblenz in the German fourth division.
Josue
Josue joined Wolfsburg in 2007 and their captain won his first league title in 2009. After six years in Germany, he returned to Brazil to play at Atlético Mineiro and retired in 2015.
Elano
The Brazilian playmaker became the fan favorite during his two years in Manchester City after signing for the club in 2007.
"Manchester City is a special club for me and I will always be grateful to the club and the city of Manchester," Elano told the club's official website.
He also played for Galatasary, Santos, Gremio and Flamengo before moving to the Indian Super League. After retiring, he became acting director at Santos, but he was fired in 2017 and is currently working for ESPN.
Julio Baptista
The striker scored a scorer after four minutes in the final and managed to reach 47 selections for Brazil. After being loaned to Arsenal in 2006-07 by Real Madrid, he also had stays with Roma, Malaga, Cruziero, Orlando City and CFR Cluj during his career.
He took the place of Kaka in the Brazilian team during the tournament after the Milanese star had asked not to play at Copa America because he needed to rest from football.
Baptista announced his retirement in May 2019 by tweeting: "After more than 20 years in the football elite, it's time to give way and announce that I've decided to end my career as a player.
"I am starting a new life and I want to express my gratitude to all those who have helped me to fulfill my dream. Thank you all. "

Robinho
When Sheikh Mansour took power in Manchester City in 2008, Robinho was signed on the day of the deadline in a huge statement of intent.
However, the striker was disappointing in City and left for AC Milan two years later. He is currently playing for Turkish club Super Lig Basaksehir while he is appealing a rape conviction from 2017.
Vagner Love
Best known for his colorful hair and his pbadage in the Russian league with CSKA Moscow, the striker also played in China, France and Turkey before joining Corinthians for his second stint at the club.

Dani Alves
Alves scored in the 2007 final and could figure for Brazil in the 2019 decision – although technically, no club left the PSG at the end of his contract.
Basically, he just won everything, which is correct.
Diego
Another Brazilian who did not live up to his potential, Diego's form for Werder Bremen earned him a transfer to Juventus, but he was sold to Wolfsburg a year later.
The talented midfielder has since returned to Brazil and has been playing for Flamengo since 2016.

Fernando Menegazzo
No, we have not heard of him either.
Menegazzo signed a new deal with Bordeaux after the victory of the Copa America and helped them win the championship in 2009. After leaving the French club in 2011, he played for Al-Shabab and Club Brugge before taking his retirement in 2014.
He also spent six months in Bordeaux in 2018 as a member of Gus Poyet's coaching staff.
