Where every firearm pin and weapon of Valyrian Steel is now

[ad_1]

After a break that seemed almost as long as the long night, Game of thrones is finally back. There are only six episodes left before the end of the Westeros story (at least until the film premiere), and the season 7 cliffhanger saw the king of the night and a visionary zombified destroy part of the wall at Eastwatch, finally allowing the army of the dead to march on Westeros.

The Great War between the living and the dead has never been so close, and the characters are going to need as much dragonglbad and Valyrian Steel weapons as they can get their hands on. The latter is extremely rare, so here's where all the Valyrian steel blades still in the mix are currently located on Game of thrones.

Jon Snow fight with Ice

Long clip

Longclaw may be Game of thrones& # 39; most emblematic weapon of Valyrian Steel. It has been used in most of the series by none other than Jon Snow (or should we call him Aegon now?). The sword is a family heirloom of the Mormont House and was offered to Jon in the night observation by Lord Commander Mormont before his death. Jon tried to return it to Jorah in "Beyond the Wall" last season, but Dany's chief advisor claimed that it belonged to Jon.

Although we are happy to see our former favorite bastard with his trusty weapon, I wonder what little Lyanna Mormont would think of Jorah's decision. She is currently at the head of Maison Mormont and she may want to get her family's knife back. Jon has already used Longclaw to kill two White Walkers, and smart money tells him that he will have more to reduce in the future.

Joffrey with Oathkeeper

Wail widow

After Tywin Lannister found his hands, former Ned Stark ice swordfish, Ice, he melted Valyrian Steel's blade into two swords for House Lannister. This scene was the cold start of Season 4, showing how swords will be important in the coming battle against the dead. A sword was made for King Joffrey and offered to him before the purple wedding. Obviously, he had not used this device much (except on a big book that Tyrion had given him), and Jaime Lannister has since claimed the sword.

While Jaime finally leaves King's Landing to join the battle against the dead at the end of Season 7, it seems that Jaime could end up killing some White Walkers of Wrights in the future. Although it will probably have to be convincing for it to be hosted in the Targaryen / Stark alliance.

Brienne with Oathkeeper

Oath guard

The second forged sword in Ice's Valyrian Steel is Oathkeeper. This sword was originally made by Tywin for Jaime, although he had just lost the hand when that happened. Because Jaime was not yet trained to fight with his left hand, he offered the sword to Brienne from Tarth. Brienne and Jaime have forged a solid relationship during their return trip to King's Landing and have saved their lives more than once.

There are also allusions to romantic feelings between the two (without love for Tormund), so Jaime's gift to Brienne is significant. She named the latter keeper of oath after her vow to Catelyn Stark, and she has used it in a multitude of important battles throughout the seasons, including her fight with The Hound and her elimination of Stannis Baratheon. Now that Brienne has seen a wight in person, I'm sure she's going to kill a lot of dead soldiers by the end of season 8.

Samwell steals Heartsbane

Heartsbane

It is one of the least known swords of Valyrian Steel, but it could become important once the dead began to attack Westeros. Heartsbane is Valyrian Steel Sword from Tarly House (Sam's Family). When Sam briefly returned to Horn Hill in Season 6 (and before he annoyed the fans), he was quickly embarrbaded and humiliated by his father, Randyll. But just before leaving for the Citadel, he stole Heartsbane, to the chagrin of his family.

Now that Randy and Dickon have been killed by Dany, no one will come to ask for the sword. Even though Sam will probably not participate in the fight, he may find a way to master the power of Valyrian's steel, or at least determine what makes him capable of killing White Walkers. If he (and maybe Bran) is able to do that in season 7 and maybe even create more Valyrian steel, then life may have a chance after all. They have a new blacksmith at hand!

Arya sparring with Brienne

The dagger

This little dagger was an important point of the plot in Game of thrones. Back in Season 1, a saleswoman sword infiltrated Winterfell and attempted to badbadinate Bran Stark with the blade. Catelyn and Summer managed to repel him, but the dagger himself used the dagger himself, which is not so expensive, to trigger the conflict between House Stark and House Lannister. In season 7, Littlefinger handed it to Bran, who then gave it to Arya.

Now that Arya is armed with a Valyrian steel weapon, I can not wait to see her kill undead enemies when the last season of Game of thrones prime ministers. Even though Cersei still has his name among the people to kill, I would not be surprised that Arya ended up using his dagger to protect Winterfell, especially his sister.

throne game throne dawn lyanna

Bonus sword: Dawn

If Longclaw is Game of thrones"The most emblematic steel weapon of Valyrian, so Dawn must be the least known. The ancestral sword of the Dayne House has barely been mentioned, and only eagle-eyed fans have noticed it in the back-and-forth footage of Tower of Joy. After the death of Ser Arthur Dayne, Ned took Dawn and took her to Dorne Tower, where he found Lyanna dying and was charged with Jon / Aegon.

Game of thrones Never revealed definitively what happened to Dawn, although if the events in the series follow the books, then Ned sent Dawn back to House Dayne after the fighting ended. Still, the camera lingered on Dawn just long enough for fans to recognize it. Is this a sign that Dawn has a role to play in the Great War? Or was it just a nod to book fans? This is not one of the many things we already know about season 8, so we will have to wait and see.

Season 8 of Game of thrones premieres on Sunday April 14th at 9pm ET on HBO.
