Who is Wayne Hayes actor Adam Barlow and has he ever been to Corrie?

Wayne Hayes returns to Coronation Street tonight, 18 years after leaving the pavement

The character has only been in the show for about a year, alongside his mother Sheila and boyfriend Alex Swinton.

Roy Cropper and his wife Hayley briefly spoke to Wayne after learning that Alex had abused him and his mother.

Finally, Roy and Hayley managed to convince Sheila to report to the police to denounce Alex, then she decided to leave Weatherfield with Wayne.

Wayne's latest appearance on the soap operetta dates back to Christmas Eve 2001, after his last visit to the Croppers.

After being initially performed by a young Gary Damer, Adam Barlow now badumes the role.

The character is now a health and safety inspector and is confronted with the sad news of Hayley's death on his return.

Who is Adam Barlow?

Adam has worked primarily as a theater actor so far in his career, including roles in Sweeney Todd, Cinderella, Chicago and The Winter's Tale.

More recently, the 32-year-old has appeared in productions of Cyrano and War Horse.

He has also played in Roy's Rolls in Coronation Street before, but not as Wayne Hayes.

Instead, he played an unknown character who appeared in an episode in July 2016 and in the cafe he flirted with Rana Habeeb (Bhavna Limbachia), who died during the recent collapse of a factory.

The actor should not be confused with the character of Coronation Street, Adam Barlow, played by Sam Robertson and last appeared on the soap opera in February.

The character of Adam, Wayne, arrives in Weatherfield to conduct a health and safety investigation following the collapse of the roof of the plant that killed Rana Habeeb.

He discusses his concerns with Carla Connor (Alison King) before meeting with Roy Cropper (David Neilson) and rebadures him that he is not being held responsible for the recent boat fire.

Wayne also helps Roy find information about the engraving on the ring that he inherited from his mother.
