Rashid Ibrahim, the prime suspect in the murder of Israel Agyei Manu, principal of Rogel Montessori elementary school in the Ashanti region, has revealed why he committed the crime.
According to him, he beheaded the man for ritual purposes.
This was made known by the public relations officer of the Ashanti regional police command, ASP Godwin Ahianyo.
“We had information that he was the perpetrator of the murder of this gentleman, so we quickly apprehended him. Initially, he denied the incident; he denied being behind it and pleaded an alibi… During further interviews and interrogations he broke down and in fact confessed, adding that he had committed the crime alone, ”ASP Ahianyo said. .
“He mentioned some people as the ones who attracted him; that they told him that if he wants to earn money, he should go and get the head of a human being and bring it so that they can help him earn enough money, ”reportedly said ASP Ahianyo in a myjoyonline report.
The suspect then led the police to where he dumped the machete he used to commit the crime.
Israel Agyei Manu, 33, who was driving a Toyota Vitz vehicle, registration GE 3170-21, was beheaded on Sunday afternoon.
This was after the suspect hired the services of the deceased to transport loudspeakers nearby in his car.
The suspect is currently in police custody pending court proceedings.
