“So there was a particular dialogue that I wanted in Kaalia; my dad stayed up until 3 am working on it until I finally liked one. At 7 am when Amitabh was doing make-up on sets, I read the scene. The first thing he said to me after reading was that he wouldn’t speak the dialogue. A little later, once we met again on set, he asked me why I was insisting despite the fact that he had made his intention not to say this dialogue clearly enough. I told him that I wanted a dialogue that would attract applause from the audience and it was everything, ”Tinnu said.

Tinnu said Amitabh told him the audience wouldn’t react to the aftershock as they hoped. While Amitabh asked Tinnu to quit the industry if he was wrong, Tinnu also put the same condition on him. “No one had spoken to Amitabh like that. Everyone was shocked, including Parveen Babi and Pran Saab,” he added.
