A new survey reveals that a third of employees who quit their jobs did so because they had not gained new skills or better performance. Lack of career growth is one of the main reasons workers leave, just behind low wages.

Public opinion polling company The Harris Poll administered the survey using the responses of 1,433 full-time employees in 310 workplaces. Almost all the companies surveyed reported providing career development tools.
