Arsenal could have brought Malcom from Barcelona and Denis Suarez, but the Gunners canceled the deal on the day of the transfer deadline.
Suarez finalized Thursday the transfer to Emirates Stadium, thus ending a £ 2 million loan agreement that could turn into a permanent exchange of £ 18 million at the end of the season.
The Spaniard – who appeared in the books of Manchester City in his youth – wanted to unite Unai Emery after lending his loan to Seville, but Malcom had not made the trip to Catalonia north of London with his teammate.
The Brazilian signed Bordeaux only Barca this summer, but he failed to make a lot of impact at Camp Nou.
And he seemed to want a change to join Emery and Suarez in the Emirates, but only so that the Gunners could blunt in front of the loan charges needed to get him on board, according to The Sun.
Malcom now seems ready to stay at Barca until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Suarez said to have been inspired by two legends of Arsenal who grew up.
"When I was small, Arsenal was the team that inspired me, I looked at Bergkamp and Henry, they were legends," he said.
"My philosophy of football – have fun, have fun and win."
