– The Committee on Parliamentary Services justified its decision to award a contract for the architectural design of the proposed new complex to the British company Sir David Adjaye and Associates

– Council says it rewarded the contract of merit with David Adjaye; they say that they followed the required process leading to the choice of the prospective winner

– The explanation of the BSP is in the disagreement of the architects that the NPP government has awarded all the most lucrative contracts to Sir David Adjaye

The Parliamentary Services Board (PSB) stated that it followed the established procedure for the award of the architectural design contract for the proposed new complex to David Adjaye and Associates.

The Commission stated that the government was not making a difference to local contractors.

The PSB was responding to a series of complaints from local architects who felt that the government favored David Adjaye and Associates for the award of contracts.

The Design Associates Development Consortium has written to President Akufo-Addo about this.

The company said David Adjaye and Associates, owned by British architect David Adjaye, was not allowed to operate in Ghana.

Dr. Ekow Sam, coordinator of the Design Associates Development Consortium, added that Adjaye was not registered under the Architects Decree 1968 (NRCD357) or the Ghana Institute of Architects.

In response to these claims, PSB stated that it had exercised due diligence before awarding contracts to David Adjaye and Associates.
