Since Meghan began dating Prince Harry, his relationship with his father has puzzled people around the world. Meghan's parents divorced when she was young
Meghan's father was director of light in Hollywood and his parents met on a set. His mother was a temporary studio where his father worked and the two got along well and quickly fell in love. Meghan wrote in an essay for Elle that she thought it was "her sweet eyes and her afro, as well as their common love for antiques" that had drawn her father to his mother. Although things seemed happy for a moment, their marriage began to crumble. The couple divorced when Meghan was six years old.

Even though her parents were not together, Meghan always spent a lot of time with them both. She used to visit her father on the set, and that is largely why she started playing. He also helped her through a difficult time in college, when she was asked to complete a census form and realized that her mixed race background was not an option in the boxes to check the form . everything and moved to Mexico, where he has lived since. And with
Meghan filming Suit in Toronto, it's
possible that distance played a role in their lack of relationship.
When Harry and Meghan planned the wedding, things with Meghan and his father became seriously tense. Thomas was caught paying the paparazzi for the news and Meghan did not invite anyone from his father's family to his wedding – except him. However, a few days before the wedding, heart problems prevented him from flying to the UK.
According to The Cut, Meghan would have written him a letter after the wedding asking him to put an end to these nonsense so that they could repair their relationship, but Thomas apparently did not answer his calls. Since Meghan and Harry got married, it was said-between-Meghan and her father, and it's not clear if the truth will ever be fully revealed. Perhaps Meghan's new baby will bring a change of heart to both of them and will make them mend their relationship.
