The Strictly Come Dancing Ballroom is still a bit empty with the news that Pacha Kovalev will not return to the show.
The dancer of Russian origin and former winner of the Glitterball Trophy announced Wednesday that he had decided to quit after eight years of existence, which earned him to retire after to have reached the final in 2018 with Ashley Roberts.
So why did he decide to leave?
Well, Pasha said in a statement that he was trying to "find a new challenge".
"Having scored 93 perfect scores, reached 4 finals and lifted a scintillating ball, it's time for me to find a new challenge and so I decided to do last year – my last season on Strictly," writes Pasha .
"I've spent eight fantastic years, full of wonderful memories, thanks to incredible partners, professionals and a myriad of film crews all working to make Strictly the incredible production it is.
"We want to thank all the members of the public who have supported me so much over the years, and look forward to seeing you on the Strictly Pro-Tour this spring and many more adventures to come."
The news has left his fans devastated.
At the same time, the BBC also paid tribute: "Unfortunately, after eight incredible series, the brilliant Pasha Kovalev decided to leave #Strictly.
"Pasha, from all of us, thank you for your choreography and your incredible routines over the years. We will miss you a lot! & # 39;

Since the news, rumors have hinted that Pasha's girlfriend, Rachel Riley – who had started dating him a year after being his partner in the 2013 series – may have influenced her decision to leave.
The Sun reported that the countdown star was worried that the famous "Curse of Strictly" would separate them – a source also suggesting that Rachel thought Pacha was "underpaid" for his efforts in the series.
The dancer previously won the Glitterball Trophy in 2014 with Caroline Flack and reached the final with Chelsee Healey, Kimberly Walsh and her newest partner Ashley Roberts.
