William thinks Diana would have been a "nightmare" for this reason

The Duke and Duchess welcomed George in 2013, Charlotte in 2015 and Louis in 2018, but since William's mother died in a car accident on August 31, 1997, she did not meet any of her grandchildren.

If she has had the opportunity, William thinks she knows exactly what kind of grandmother she would be and why it would have been a nightmare for him and his wife.

Before the birth of Louis, Prince William explained how his mother would have been with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

"It would be a nightmare grandmother, an absolute nightmare," said William in the documentary Diana, our mother: her life and her heritage, adding: "She loved children, but she would be an absolute nightmare. She would come, probably at bath time, cause an incredible scene, bubbles everywhere, bath water everywhere, then leave.

After joking a little, William admitted that without a doubt he thought his mother would have been "a lovely grandmother".

In this same documentary, William explains at length how he and Middleton always make sure to keep Diana's memory alive and let their children know that they have two grandmothers.

The prince revealed that they had pictures of the deceased princess around the house and, when they talked about it, they called her "grandmother Diana".

"It's important that they know who she was and what she existed," William said. "I think we are constantly talking about Granny Diana, so we now have more pictures of her around the house and we talk about it a bit and others."

The duke added that he and Middleton often told their children bedtime stories about the princess of the people.

"It's difficult because, obviously, Catherine did not know her, she can not really provide this level of detail," he said. "I want to do so much time and effort with [them] as much as I can because I realize that these early years are especially crucial for children, having seen what she has done for us. "
