Meghan Markle, a pregnant woman, and her husband, Prince Harry, would be about to abandon their country house worth 2.5 million pounds sterling in the peaceful Cotswolds countryside.
The decision comes as the couple prepares to welcome their first baby in April, a few weeks before their first wedding anniversary.
The Duke and Duchess of Susbad are also preparing to leave their home located on the grounds of Kensington Palace, in the west of London, to settle in a cottage located in the peaceful estate of Windsor of the Queen.
It was thought that they would keep the old Cotswolds farm, but a report states that they cancel the lease two years earlier and leave it in March for financial or security reasons.
Meghan and Harry signed the lease before their wedding last May and spent most weekends there to escape the "fish bowl" of royal life at Kensington Palace, where Prince William, Kate and their children reside.
Their new home in Windsor, Frogmore Cottage, is undergoing renovations and construction work is expected to cost up to 3 million pounds.
Taxpayers will bear the brunt of the cost, although Harry, 34, and the former Costume Actress, Meghan, 37, pay for the devices and accessories themselves, it was announced.
A source suggested to the Daily Mail that the Duke and Duchess had decided to terminate their lease with the Cotswolds because they had trouble paying for the maintenance of two properties.
However, a separate source said the move was due to security reasons, the newspaper reports.
The Cotswolds Estate, home to the £ 2.5m property, is owned by the multi-millionaire Old Etonian Nicholas Johnston and is 13km northeast of Chipping Norton.
Frogmore Cottage, nestled on the grounds of Frogmore House, was offered to the Duke and Duchess by the Queen last year. Kensington Palace confirmed the move in November, saying Windsor was a "very special place" for the couple.
The cottage is located 800 meters south of Windsor Castle, the Queen's summer residence, and St George's Chapel, where Harry and Meghan tied in last May, while millions of people in the the whole world watched television.
Insiders say that the Duchess of Susbad has regularly corresponded with the renovation team.
They added that the house was "specially designed" to guarantee the family a "comfortable country life".
A source said, "It's a very expensive affair.
"Frogmore Cottage is in a very dilapidated state and needs many alterations and heavy restoration to bring it up to standard, for the Duke and the Duchess."
A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Susbad declined to comment on these claims.
