Sometimes, when a marriage fails, things can get complicated and after a divorce, many couples usually decide to live separately. Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are not part of these couples.
Although the Duke and Duchess of York officially divorced in 1996, they still live together today. The Prince and Fergie began their romantic relationship in 1985 and, after several months of dating, announced that they were engaged. The couple was knotted on March 16, 1986 during a sumptuous ceremony at Westminster Abbey, watched by millions of people.
They had their first daughter, Princess Beatrice of York, on August 8, 1988, and welcomed their second daughter, Princess Eugenie of York, on March 23, 1990. It was shortly after the birth of Eugenie that their marriage would have started to collapse and they announced plans for "split amicably" in 1992.
However, after this announcement, published photos were published in the tabloids of photographer Ferguson taking a sun bath bad while being sucked off by the US financial adviser John Bryan. As she was still married to Andrew at the time, it was a huge embarrbadment for the royal family and meant that both had really no choice but to divorce. They did it in 1996.
The reason they still live together

Fergie even said they were the "happiest divorced couple in the world". It is also a divorced couple who still lives together today. Why? Well, the reason is simple. It's because they appreciate everyone's company.
They live together in the Royal Lodge in Windsor. In 2015, rumors circulated that Ferguson had left the residence to move to another property common to ex-ex in Verbier, Switzerland. A spokesman said at the time that the Fergie still had a room at the Royal Lodge and that he would stay there on occasion.
In 2018, the duchess was back there and revealed what it feels like living with her ex-husband.
"Although we are not a couple, we really believe in each other," she said. "The Yorks are a united family. We showed it. You saw him at [royal] wedding. We get up each other, fight for each other. We are totally respectful of everyone's position and thoughts and we listen to each other … And we sit around the table and have afternoon tea together. It's a very important part of our lives. "
That's right, they divorced more than 20 years ago, but these days seem happier than ever and continue to mix.
