Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency, Ursula Owusu Ekuful Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency, Ursula Owusu Ekuful

Her ‘girl power’ was on full display during the chaos that hit the inauguration of Parliament on January 7, 2020.

It was then that NDC MPs took over the majority seats of the 7th Parliament before the official inauguration ceremony of the 8th Parliament.

Not letting herself be intimidated by any means, she held on and fought for her party amid flying beating, growling, yelling, verbal abuse, etc.

It was a clear case of “If persuasion fails, force must be applied” as the MP for Ablekuma West had to go to extremes to get what she wanted.

Ursula Owusu vs. Collins Dauda

Ursula insisted on sitting with NDC MPs despite attempts by the NPP leadership to get her to sit on the left side.

After being pushed around by one of the NDC MPs when she chose a seat on the side dominated by them, Ms Ursula Owusu retaliated by pushing Collins Dauda to the ground.

Dragging her knees on the floor, she grabbed his shirt and continued to push him from his chair, but the South Asutifi MP resisted.

Ursula Owusu vs. Mintah Akandoh

After a series of struggles and finally securing a seat on the majority side, Ms Owusu rose from the seat to go to the bathroom and MP Juaboso hurriedly took the seat.

Ursula, after returning from the toilet and realizing that Mr. Akandoh had occupied his chair, was forced to sit on her lap.

She relaxed imperturbably on the member’s lap despite calls from several colleagues to stand up.

Ursula has decided to remain standing throughout the parliamentary proceedings

Ms Owusu Ekuful refused to sit in Parliament after claiming that all the seats she wanted had been hijacked by NDC MPs.

The MP intended to stand on the second floor of Parliament until all deliberations were completed.
