Amidu Stop Work Special Prosecutor's Office Building

The public relations officer (PRO) of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Gilbert Ankrah, justified his wardrobe actions by stopping the construction and renovation of the building for the special prosecutor.

According to Mr Ankrah, A.M.A does not target the special prosecutor, but rather ensures that the rules on building construction and renovation work are applied.

The office reserved for the use of the Special Prosecutor was marked with an inscription "Interrupt the work and produce a permit" by the A.M.A.

Gilbert Ankrah, in an interview with Adom News, said that the special prosecutor was to provide the necessary authorizations to MA.A.A before allowing them to continue the renovation work and the construction of the fence wall.

"AAM is only doing its job and, as an institution, we are only concerned about the need to do what is right," he said.

He added that A.M.A's file did not allow the contractor to continue the work.

"Until the necessary documents and the regular procedures are taken, they [contractors] will not be allowed to continue working, "he said.
