Surprisingly enough, today Apple has brought important innovations for the iPad. This sums up Apple under the new iPadOS brand.
Apple has launched some fairly basic innovations for the iPad today. – and because they're so extended, introduced a whole new concept in the game: Apple brings all the innovations for the iPad under the brand iPadOS. Some of these innovations were discussed earlier, others not. Apple now offers a multi-window mode for applications.
An application can display content in multiple windows, such as two notes notes or pages respectively two documents side by side. Users can not only move the contents of one window to another in the same application, they can also switch from one application to another.
Widgets on the home screen
Very exciting is an innovation that nobody probably expects: Apple brings widgets on the home screen. These can be dimmed in the left part of the screen, for example, the weather or calendar can be pinned.
Safari will now allow you to surf fully in an office mode. This should dramatically improve the management of web applications such as WordPress and bring them closer to an office experience.
Files become more versatile
The extension of the file application is also interesting: it now contains display options known to the macOS search tool, including the view of columns and lists.
The Files application also displays external drives such as USB sticks or memory cards. These are recognized directly when they are connected.
There are also new features in the fonts: in the future, additional fonts may be used on the iPad. These can be downloaded from the App Store.
The latency of Apple Pencil is reduced to nine milliseconds with iPadOS. Finally, new scanning moves are introduced: with three fingers, you can now copy content and remove entries – no reason to shake the iPad.
