An Australian computer scientist and co-founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange, was arrested at the Ecuadorian Embbady in London.

Assange has been a refugee at the embbady since 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden following a badual badault case that has since been dropped, reports the BBC.

According to the President of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno, Assange asylum would have been withdrawn because of repeated violations of the latter to international conventions.

Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for the Interior, said in a tweet: "I can confirm that Julian Assange is now in custody and faces justice in the UK.

"I would like to thank Ecuador for its cooperation and metpoliceuk for its professionalism.Nobody is above the law."

Assange had refused to leave the embbady, ​​saying that if he did, he would be extradited to the United States to be questioned about the activities of Wikileaks.

The United States Department of Justice announced that it was planning to sue Julian Assange.

The Wikileaks leader has been under the care of an Ecuadorian embbady in London since 2012, after fleeing Sweden as a result of badual badault charges.

Although the case was filed in 2017, he should still be arrested for violating his bail conditions should he leave the embbady.

According to the Attorney General of the time, Jeff Sessions, in April 2017, the arrest of Assange would become a priority for the Department of Justice.
