Wilfried Bony gets the loan out of Swansea City

Wilfried Bony joined the Qatari party of Al-Arabi, on loan from Swansea City.

The Ivorian earned about £ 100,000 a week, making it the club's biggest salary.

This is a sum that has proved unsustainable for the Swans because of the restructuring process put in place at SA1 following the relegation of the Premier League club last year.

Bony was tipped to leave this month, as the club is open to bids for 30 years throughout the January transfer window to significantly reduce their payroll.

And the club confirmed that Bony had been loaned to Qatar for the rest of the season.

Bony's current contract with the Swans expires this summer, which means he will no longer be in contract with the club when his loan deal with Al-Arabi will end.

Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony has been loaned to Qatari club Al-Arabi for the remainder of the season, subject to the required permissions from the international community.

"The Ivorian joins a team of Al-Arabi, sixth of the Qatar Stars League, in the League of 12.

"The Swans have some ties with Al-Arabi, former boss Colin Addison won the Qatar title in 1993, while Pablo Hernandez left the Liberty for the Grand Hamad Stadium in 2014.

"Everyone in Swansea City would like to thank Wilfried for his service to the club during his two periods, and wish him well in his new challenge."

Bony scored 34 times in 70 appearances during his first memorable stay with the Swans before joining Man City in January 2015.
