Although Jenelle Evans is no longer on a reality show, her life continues to be broadcast in the sight of the world. In recent months, the former Teen Mom 2 star was involved in a fierce battle between his mother, Barbara.
As legal battles unfold inside the courtroom, the clashes between Evans and his mother were fully exposed. As things continue to deteriorate, one can only wonder: "Is there still hope for Jenelle Evans and her mother to have a decent relationship?"
Jenell Evans recently found custody of her children
In early May, the North Carolina police were called to Evans and Eason's homes after Eason shot down the family's French bulldog. Eason defended his actions claiming that the dog posed a risk to the two-year-old couple's daughter, Ensley, and that he had no other choice.
When fans shouted that the former reality star had gone too far, Eason turned to social media, writing: [sic] do not care what animal bites my baby on the face, "he said according to Us Weekly. "Whether it's your dog or mine, a dog is a dog and I do not [sic] bear with that sh * t at all. I'm all about protecting my family, it's my life [sic] mission. Some people deserve to be killed or die, and my family matters a lot to me.
After learning about the events, the child protection services took the children of the couple out of their homes. Ensley, the daughter of the two-year-old couple, was sentenced to custody of Barbara. Barbara already has custody of Evans' eldest son, Jace. Evans' five-year-old son with former Nathan Griffith was sentenced to live with his mother. Eason's 12-year-old daughter is currently in the care of her mother.
Things got heated between Jenelle and Barbara last month
It is natural that emotions are exacerbated during a custody conflict. But the fact that Evans is fighting against his own mother has to make it exponentially more difficult. It was clear that both were struggling to hear after a court appearance last month.
After attending the hearing, Evans met Ensley outside the courthouse to take her in his arms. Barbara tried to hurry up, saying that Ensley was hungry and had little time for lunch.
The incident continued to intensify, with Evans telling TMZ that his mother had blocked his number. Barbara responded by saying that her daughter's actions were only "for the camera". Evans then told her mother that she would contact family services because her brother, who lives with Barbara, posted inappropriate photos of her daughter. Needless to say, at the end of the interaction, it seemed that the two had crossed a few lines and were about to reach a point of no return.
Is there hope for the next two?
Barbara and Evans were recently seen outside the courthouse, but this time the interaction seemed much better to go. Barbara questioned Evans about Ensley's vaccinations and Evans showed no signs of anger or resentment. She was a civilian and provided the requested information.
But it seems that the good times have been short-lived. Although Barbara and Evans seemed to be making progress in prioritizing children and repairing fences, it seems that the family has taken a step back.
According to TMZ, Eason called 911 after her 9-year-old son said Barbara had locked Ensley in her bedroom. Eason said the toddler was locked in her room while her grandmother was taking a shower. After finishing her shower, she was unable to take the child out of the room.
It is unclear whether Evans played a role in the call or if she was aware of the situation at that time. But as long as Evans and Eason are married, his actions will continue to affect future family dynamics. The hope of repairing this relationship seems to diminish each day.
