The Duke and Duchess of Susbad have a lot of change in their future. Not only are members of the royal family expecting their first child this spring, but they are also settling in not one but two new homes. Before the expiration of Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess head to the countryside where they will raise their baby in their new family home, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. But it will not be their only place of residence.
In addition to Frogmore Cottage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle break their ties with Kensington Palace and move to a new home in London. Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle settle in Buckingham Palace? Discover it in advance.
Prince William and Prince Harry's Kensington Palace separate
Last week, Buckingham Palace confirmed what had been guessed for five months: Prince William and Prince Harry officially separate. In order for Prince William and Kate Middleton to badume their future roles, the Royal Family feels that it is necessary for both couples to separate from their court and become their own home. But what does that mean for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? Apparently, a lot of moving.
In its official statement, the palace confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Susbad completely sever ties with Kensington Palace and hire a new communications staff. The staff they currently have will remain in Kensington under the offices of Prince William and Kate Middleton. And though they wished to be released from Buckingham Palace, the Queen found the petition useless and planned to transfer the offices of the Duke and Duchess of Susbad to London at Buckingham Palace. But, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will they also settle at the seat of the royal family?
Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle settle in Buckingham Palace?
At present, the Queen's staff is working in the western attic of Buckingham Palace (also called Pedestrian Floor), which has been renovated to become an office space on the open floor. The staff of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will join the 120 employees working for the Queen.
In addition, some suggest that the Duke and Duchess of Susbad could also make Buckingham Palace their home in London. In this way, they have a place to stay in town for extended work and meetings. However, many renovations to the east wing of the palace (where most of the residents live) began this spring and many members of the royal family have had to relocate to St. James's Palace for the time being.
If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decide to settle away from Buckingham Palace, they may need to find temporary housing until the renovation is completed. This means that they could reside at St. James's Palace with the rest of the royal residence of Buckingham Palace or at the Nottingham Cottage – their present royal residence – at Kensington Palace until they can move to Buckingham Palace.
That said, the Duke and Duchess of Susbad are probably in no hurry to live in London. After all, once the baby arrives, they will take maternity leave and paternity leave. As part of their official separation between Prince William and Kate Middleton, they also plan to continue their philanthropic efforts and could do so from outside the city.
