CIars, a cigar case and a top hat belonging to Sir Winston Churchill were found on a landfill.
The articles were authenticated by an expert from Antiques Roadshow, the BBC's long-standing program, after being brought by a member of the public working at the dump.
David Rose, who claimed to have three salvaged antique stores and other items, said, "I've been working there for about 15 years and I can pull out anything I love, mostly antiques."
Mr. Rose refused to tell the show's management where the dump was, where he had found Churchill's memories, preferring to keep the secret for himself.
In the episode presented at Eltham Palace in South East London and aired Sunday night, Mr. Rose explained how he had discovered the cigar and his hat, accompanied by more than 200 letters written by a mother, cook of Winston Churchill, to his son. .
In her letters, she gave a detailed overview of Churchill's daily life. "She wrote to her son daily about Winston Churchill's daily life, plans, feelings and interesting topics," said Rose.
