Wolf News: "It was a moment of joy" – Nuno, boss of the wolves, welcomes the victory of the Cup of England

Wolf coach Nuno Espirito Santo said he had reached the first FA Cup quarter-final in 16 years "a moment of joy" after seeing his team beat Bristol City in the fifth round.

Ivan Cavaleiro 's goal in the first half proved to be the difference at an entertaining match that ended 1-0 at Ashton Gate, despite recent efforts from Robins for best goalkeeper John Ruddy.

The striker was also the hero of the fourth round when he scored the winner in a replay win over Shrewsbury Town and Nuno said the 25-year-old had once again left a memory to be savored for the club's fans.

"I am very happy," the Portuguese told BT Sport after the match.

"It was very difficult, but I'm happy for the fans. It was a moment of joy.

"We try to find solutions, but it was difficult when they put as much [men] behind the ball and with long balls in the box all the time.

"In the first period, they left us room, we had room and opportunities to score, but then they changed and it's a tough team.

"I'd like to play Molineux [in the next round] if I could ask something. "

The manager praised the back side Matt Doherty for praising him after causing problems in City all afternoon and provided help to the Strikes for Cavaleiro in the 28th minute.

The 27-year-old Irishman played a key role in the winning team of Nuno's promotion last season and has continued to prosper since the club moved into the Premier League.

"He has a big heart," said the Wolves boss. "He goes up and down, he does not rest.

"It's hard work but it keeps running and we are very happy with it.

"Last season he had a fantastic season and it was a big challenge to prove himself in the Premier League and he's doing so well."

Wolves captain Conor Coady congratulated his teammates for resisting Bristol City's second-half return attempt. "It's a tough team, it's a very good club.

"I thought we had dominated the first half and we knew that there would be a reaction in the second half, they did it, but we stayed there and showed how we can defend."
