Wolves In The Throne Room will release their new album, Primordial Arcana August 20. This will be their first album in North America only through Relapse Records.
Wolves In The Throne Room shares what viewers can expect from one of the songs on Primordial Arcana: “’Primal Chasm (Gift of Fire)’ is an explosion of cosmic grandeur, a symphonic interpretation of the hermetic maxim As above, therefore below. The lyrics are a dreamlike tale of creation. The self-creating act of the universe comes from the same impulse – everything springs from the same source, from the same union of fire and ice. It is the interplay between polarized opposites, and it is from their contradiction and chaos that life occurs and music and planets are created.
Inspiration for Primordial Arcana comes from their most recent trip to Cascadia, a bioregion that has an influence on the aesthetics and sound of the band. From forests in “Mountain Magick” to rivers and streams in “Spirit of Lightning” and to the ocean in “Primal Chasm (Gift of Fire)”.
