Woman who thought to have hay fever actually had a brain tumor

One woman who thought she was suffering from hay fever was shocked to find that her eyes were stinging her was a brain tumor.

Gurcharan Kaur, 30, had irritated eyes for weeks, but simply stressed it as an allergy caused by pollen or dust and by taking antihistamines.

But when she visited London last month, she noticed that her eyes were becoming more irritable than normal and that it was becoming painful to blink.

Gurcharan asked an optician for help. Despite the fact that she was initially told to use eye drops, she came back and a test revealed that she had optic nerve lesions in the left eye.

The doctors discovered that she had a small colloidal cyst – a slow-growing tumor in the center of her brain, behind her left eye.

According to her, it would only take her a few weeks to develop convulsions and she needs a brain operation to remove the benign mbad.

Now without a tumor, Gurcharan from Wolverhampton wants to warn others about minimizing life-threatening symptoms.

She said, "I just thought I was developing a hay fever.

"My eye was going to bite in the morning, but I would take an antihistamine and it would go away.

"I knew you could develop it anytime, and I thought it was just a case like that.

"I also felt dizzy and tired for a few months, but I just gave up.

"I always had a perfect vision, so it did not even cross my mind, it was something so serious.

"I feel that pbading Vision Express was a sign.

"If it had not been there, I would have simply ignored it and avoided having it checked."

Gurcharan was about to meet her 36-year-old older sister Sharan last month, when she finally decided to be examined.

She walked past a Vision Express store and decided to go there, but she was unable to get an instant appointment and experts advised her to wash her eyes.

Gurcharan said, "My eye was itching and I thought it was a sign.

"My sister was always at her job interview, so I had a little time alone.

"I only went on a whim. I did not really think I had a problem with me.

"It's just a coincidence that I pbaded in front of her."

A few hours later, Gurcharan returned to the Oxford Street store after finding that his left eye was starting to blush.

Staff did a standard eye test and found that Gurcharan – who had not had an eye appointment for 10 years – had optic nerve lesions in his left eye.

She said, "I kept complaining about the pain.

'I kept my mirror out of my bag to check if there was anything in my eyes.

'My eye was really irritating.

'I only went back because my sister was bored with what I was talking about.

"At that moment, my eye started to blush and it started to hurt when I blinked.

"The last time I saw the opticians, I was told that I had a 20:20 vision, so that did not seem right.

"I went to the office and the employee went to get a second opinion.

"Another staff member saw me this time and said that they could bring me in."

She was directed to a CT scan and the two women took the train home and went directly to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.

Doctors discovered an abnormal fluid in his brain and another badysis revealed a small colloidal cyst behind his left eye.

A few days later, she underwent a two-hour operation during which doctors opened her head by performing a minimally invasive surgical procedure to remove the mbad, returning Gurcharan to his home with a two-month treatment for treatment. of epilepsy.

Gurcharan said, "Fortunately, it was not bigger.

"I was scared for my life.

"I just want to warn people against ignoring what can be pretty serious symptoms.

"I kept shrugging. I would feel sick but after taking a hay fever tablet he would be arrested.

"But going past this Vision Express store was almost a sign.

"I had buried my head in the sand but I knew something was wrong, so that 's why I came back.

"The doctors told me that if I was not there, it would have grown and I would have started having seizures."
