From "Neerja" to "Padman" through "Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga", Sonam Kapoor made unconventional choices in her career and the actress says her goal is to support stories with strong representation female.
While "Neerja" was the story of the hostess of the murdered air, Neerja Bhanot, "Padman" talked about menstrual hygiene and that is his character who helped the protagonist (Akshay Kumar) to manufacture low-cost sanitary napkins. Sonam thinks that the content becomes the hero of the film, there is no "safe" or "unsafe" zone for the actors.

Sonam believes that Indians are liberal and progressive peoples and that cinema should be used appropriately to raise public awareness.
