He particularly prayed to God to expose "any evil activity against Ghanaian women and children, who are vulnerable in society".
His prayer, broadcast on the radio, followed a supposed leak of tape of the president of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo.
On the controversial tape, Mr Ofosu-Ampofo reportedly said the NDC would be abducting women and children linked to gurus from the nuclear power plant.
Wontumi said the alleged statement of Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo should not be swept under the rug, claiming that the NDC man's threat was real.
"The former president Mahama recently said that boot-to-boot and now, Ofosu-Ampofo, national president of the NDC, also calls for the abduction of women and children.
"The statements of these two gentlemen sparked fear and tension in the country and we should not joke with their senseless threats," Wontumi told Ash FM in Kumasi.
He added that Mahama had recently said that the NDC had a proven track record of releasing violence in the country; therefore, any threat emanating from the NDC must be taken seriously.
Wontumi, who seemed to be transformed into a preacher, declared that God is alive and that, through fervent prayers, the bad plans of the NDC would fail.
