President Akufo-Addo cut the foundations for the construction of urban roads in Sefwi-Wiawso and Juaboso, as well as for the construction of a warehouse in Bia, as part of the 1-District-1-Warehouse program.
A total of 5.04 kilometers of new urban roads will be built in Sefwi-Wiawso, to which will be added an additional 8.10 kilometers of existing roads, as well as a total of 14.43 kilometers of urban roads in Juaboso .

The 5.04 kilometer contract for urban road construction in SefwiWiawso has been awarded to M / S Hardwick Limited for a cost of 13.6 million GH ¢ and is expected to be completed within 24 months.
The new roads to be built are Asonson street (electricity road) of 0.33 km; 0.50 km bungalow road; 0.30 km from Nana KofNyame Street; 0.30 km Nana Kojo Avenue; 0.51 km from the new Adiembra Avenue; 0.40 km Almighty road; 0.50 km from J. B. Arthur Road; 0.50 km from Owuahene Road; 0.20 km Okudom Street; 0.50 km Asokro Street; 0.50 AfumKroko Street; 0.30 km from Wiase School Road; and library road of 0.20 km.
The contract for the rehabilitation of the 8.10 kilometers of Sefwi-Wiawso road has been awarded to M / S Volta Impex Limited, costing 14.7 million GH ¢, and is expected to be completed in 24 months.
Affected routes include the South Africa Highway (0.41 km); the first Amanfie link road of 0.42 km; the 2nd Amanfie link road of 0.42 km; the Bosnian road of 1.35 km; the main road Amanfie of 3 km; Adiemra Avenue is 2.50 km away.
In Juaboso, M / S Rajar Engineering Works won the 26 million GH ¢ contract for the construction of 14.43 kilometers of urban roads. The contract is expected to be completed in 18 months, having been awarded on January 23, 2019.
The scope of the project includes the construction of 0.75 km of CAC / Nana Kwesi Mensah road, 1.60 km of Nana YaaMenka road; the old police station road of 0.58 km; the Juasec road (1 km); the Kena road of 1 km; the hospital road of 0.25 km; Hospital Road 2 and the 0.35 km funeral road; and the hospital road of 0.36 km.
The rest is the 0.20 km Ayiwa road; the BedibuAssaw link of 0.35 km; the Amandu Wangara trail of 0.35 km; the Coca Cola road for 0.25 km; the Juaboso heavy truck fleet of 0.14 km; the Codapec road of 0.75 km; the main road of Boizan, 3.30 km long; and 3.20 km from Boizan Road 2.
It will be recalled that the construction of these roads began under President John Agyekum Kufuor, but was blocked following the government's exit from nuclear power plants in 2008, with successive Mills / Mahama governments having abandoned the project.
In Bia, President Akufo-Addo proceeded with the construction of a prefabricated warehouse of 1,000 metric tons, as part of the "One District, One Warehouse" initiative.
Once completed, the warehouse should not only reduce post-harvest losses, but also encourage farmers to increase production, create market linkages, stabilize prices for farmers and increase their incomes.
In addition, this intervention will create jobs, ensure a continuous flow of agricultural products to the market in the locality and across the country.
The warehouse has ancillary facilities such as a desk and a laboratory, chain link fences with a sentry box, a water supply system and a grain dryer fed to the Solar energy, among others.
In the Northwest region, five warehouses are to be built in Bekwai, Bibiani-Awhiaso-Bekwai District; Abonedua to SefwiWiawso; Juaboso in the Juaboso district; Essam in the district of Bia West; and Dadieso to Suaman.
