President Akufo Addo appointed Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson, regional minister for the Bono region, to work very hard to shame those who oppose her appointment, including the minority caucus in Parliament.

The approval of his candidacy was decided after a secret ballot because the minority in Parliament had raised issues earlier in his process of validating his academic qualifications. One hundred twenty-four (124) members voted in favor of the vote, while 85 of them dissented in the secret ballot vote to approve his candidacy.

President Akufo Addo, after taking the official oath, oath of allegiance and oath of secrecy, at a ceremony at Jubilee House, told the Bono Regional Minister and his colleague of Oti region, Ambbadador Kwasi Owusu Yeboah, that he had had good reports. about her during her tenure as chief of the Sunyani municipality, which motivated her decision to choose her as the regional premier of the new Bono area.

"You must get rid of the controversy in Parliament. You had a strong vote of approval, stick to it and shame those who oppose your appointment, "said President Akufo Addo.

The president instructed the new ministers to join his administration smoothly, even when they are mid-term of office.

He said he was looking forward to working with them to keep the promises he made to the people of Ghana.

In his response, on behalf of himself and his colleague, Ambbadador Kwasi Owusu Yeboah, Regional Minister of Oti, said that he and his colleague would work tirelessly to justify the confidence that the President granted them.

He hoped that the president would win a second term and would be replaced by a NPP-based government after the expiry of his term in 2024.
