North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa urged the Ghana Electoral Commission to redouble its efforts to address issues that impede the pace of the nation's restricted voter registration exercise.

After visiting some registration centers in his riding, the MP expressed concern over the apparent lack of interest shown by voters who were not registered and encouraged them to register in order to exercise their rights. policies.

He said, "I went to the EC registration centers in my beloved riding on the first day of the National Registration of Limited Voters exercise. Let's all get involved and encourage potential newcomer voters who have reached the age of 18 to take full advantage of their rights under section 42 and to register.

"I expect the EC to employ itself in solving the problems that have led to the painful slowness of processes in some centers, as I have found, in order to avoid the suppression of voters. We wish all actors a successful exercise. I have to thank Joshua from Mepe for his very kind bike ride to the village of Dadome. "

On June 17, 2019, the Electoral Commission launched a restricted voter registration exercise nationwide to register Ghanaians who have reached the age of 18 since the last registration, as well as those who, for a reason or another, never registered.

It is part of the Commission's preparations for the district, district and district (MMDCE) district election scheduled for Tuesday, December 10, 2019.
