The persistent pandemic has inflicted an unprecedented shock on the global economy, and the recovery is likely to be slow and uneven.

The current crisis is deepening inequalities around the world and without access to vaccines the gap will widen further.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 has made it clear that there is a need for a better way to meet the debt financing needs of developing economies.

And for a sustainable future, solutions are urgently needed in developing countries, where the investment gap is deepest and where people are disproportionately affected the most by the climate crisis.

Taking place in a completely virtual fashion, the 2021 World Bank / IMF Spring Meetings will focus on “helping countries build a green and resilient recovery”.

Leaders from government, business, international organizations and civil society, along with a diverse group of experts, will discuss these global challenges and the way forward to achieve a resilient recovery.
