World Champions Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump confirmed at Llandudno snooker competition

Six of the eight biggest snooker stars that will compete in next week's Coral Tour Championship in Llandudno have been confirmed and first-round matches are scheduled for Ronnie O. Sullivan and Judd Trump.

The new tournament is the culmination of the Coral Snooker series. Only the best players in the 2018/19 season standings for one year will qualify.

A grand prize of £ 150,000 will be won at the event organized by ITV.

The final selection will include the top eight on the one-year ranking list at the end of this week's Gibraltar Open.

The first six are already sure of qualification:

Mark Allen, leader of the annual ranking
Ronnie O'Sullivan, five-time world champion and coral champion of the players
Judd Trump, Coral World Grand Prix Champion
Former world champion Neil Robertson
The current world number one, Mark Selby
Reigning World Champion Mark Williams



Ronnie O'Sullivan and Neil Robertson to compete at opening day in Llandudno

The other two places will be decided in Gibraltar this week, with Stuart Bingham, Kyren Wilson and David Gilbert competing for both places.

In the first round at Venue Cymru, Robertson will be opposed to Selby. This match of the best of the 17 matches will be played on Tuesday, March 19th.

Trump will face Williams, with the first session on the afternoon of March 19 and the conclusion the following afternoon.

Trump and O'Sullivan could meet in semifinal on Thursday

O'Sullivan will face his opponent on the night of March 19th. The second session of this match will take place on the evening of March 20th. Allen will face his opponent in both sessions on March 20th.

If the public favorite, O'Sullivan, wins his opening game, he will face Trump or Williams in the semifinal of the top 19 on Thursday, March 21, in two sessions.

The other semi-final will be held on Friday, March 22nd. The final of the best of 25 will be played over three sessions on Saturday and Sunday.

A spokesman for World Snooker said: "We are delighted to be returning to Llandudno, one of the best sites on the circuit. The new Coral Tour Championship is a fantastic addition to our calendar, bringing together an elite group consisting of the eight best players of the season.

"And we have a superb line-up with six stars already confirmed – these six have 12 world titles and more than 100 titles in the standings! The race is open to win the first cup of coral, to be awarded to the player who earns the most money in the series of snooker horn.

"Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump are in the lead, but with a jackpot of £ 150,000 available, others have a chance.

"It will be a week of the highest quality snooker and a great opportunity for fans of North Wales to watch the best players live.

"Tickets start at £ 15 and there are still spots available, but fans need to book early as some sessions will sell now that the final format has been announced."
