We are a few days away from WrestleMania 35 and the more I think about the show, the happier I am. Kofi Kingston is the WWE Champion, Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar and Becky Lynch is a two-time champion. A record of seven titles changed hands on Sunday, making the show unpredictable and interesting. That said, not all members of the card benefit as much as others, while some lose more than most. Here are the superstars who have felt the most positive and negative impacts after this Sunday.
Winner – Kofi Kingston
Kofimania is real and it was one of the most inspiring victories in the recent history of WWE. Kofi Kingston took up the challenge and became the most recent WWE Grand Slam champion and the first African-American WWE Champion. Not only did Kofi defeat the hot Daniel Bryan, but he also proved that scratching, scratching and working hard to achieve his dreams could lead to success.
Losers – The Renewal
After months of hard work restoring the legitimacy of the RAW Tag Team division, The Revival lost to Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder, a team of more than 300 consecutive combined losses. Ryder and Hawkins have done nothing to deserve this title, but the fact that The Revival looks like fools after showing how real they are is bad for the book and will hurt them in the near future and to long term. The losing renaissance left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Winner – Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins became the Kingslayer of WrestleMania a few years ago and this year he has also become the Beastslayer. Rollins faced Brock Lesnar and resisted a pre-game badault of Lesnar, finishing with a trio of Stomps to win the title. It was not your average WWE win because Rollins is the first full-time all-time world champion and now has the opportunity to wear RAW on his back with the television title every week.
Winner – The IIconics
Just one year after their main entry into the lineup, The IIconics won the WWE women's team titles at WrestleMania. After Beth Phoenix hit Bayley from an avalanche of Glam Slam, Billie Kay took the opportunity to pin Bayley, injured, to steal the win. The IIconics have worked so hard and their strong character work and their connection to the crowd have earned them the prestigious title here. This is a mbadive victory for the IIconics and a large part of the Women's division is in their hands.
Loser – Drew McIntyre
One of WWE's best-booked and best-protected superstars battled Roman Reigns last Sunday. After Mcintyre seems so loud and monstrous that the WWE appears, his loss could undermine his credibility. As long as the WWE continues to convince him, he should not suffer too much from this defeat, but nevertheless, a singles defeat at WrestleMania is great.
Winner – Becky Lynch
The most obvious of all the winners: Becky Lynch, The Man, Straight Fire, and now the women's champion RAW and SDL. Lynch competed in the first-ever women's event on Sunday and won, consolidating her place at the top of the WWE mountain. This match was the culmination of Becky's hard work and the culmination of the fantastic story that WWE has prepared for the fans.
