WWE Raw results, recap, notes: Brock Lesnar brutalizes Seth Rollins, chaos at the top Samoan, new champions

A week away from WWE with Raw Reunion, the Monday Night edition of Raw in Little Rock, Arkansas, marked the return to normal, with the approach of SummerSlam, the August 11 in Toronto. And overall, Raw has again shown a bit of optimism, as one of the most anticipated shows of the year is almost here.

Monday night, Raw gave us a bit of everything from an interesting title change 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the team championship changes hands and even the universal champion honoring us with his presence in a violent way at the moment planned. Now let's take a look at everything that happened at Raw's Monday edition.

Brock Lesnar attacks Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler's ended in no contest match when the universal champion put a violent end to the fight. Before the game, Ziggler had guided his fans to the music of Shawn Michaels shortly after Superkicking was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on Tuesday at SmackDown Live. Rollins and Ziggler had another entertaining match until the familiar music sounded on the speakers.

Not advertised for a Monday night appearance, the quick badumption was that Lesnar's music was only a head game played by Paul Heyman. But the "Incarnate Beast" charges the ring and begins a violent defeat of the former universal champion. Lesnar clubbed Rollins on the outside – including an F5 – before putting the violence in the ring with a steel chair. The chair installed in the ring, Lesnar executed F5 Rollins on the back of the chair. Rollins was spitting blood as Heyman implored Lesnar to stop the blows before the two of them went away. Rollins was lying down, but it was not the end of Lesnar's carnage. While Rollins was being taken into the ambulance, the vehicle stopped abruptly before leaving the arena. Lesnar told the driver to stay put, and he then ripped Rollins to the back while he was still strapped to the cart. To put an exclamation point on everything, Lesnar gave Rollins another F5, this time on the cart that was wedged to the side.

It was just Brock Lesnar at his best. We all had a good laugh and had good jokes when Lesnar used the Money in the Bank briefcase a few weeks ago, but the fact is that the universal champion will always be the most interesting when he proves why he is the most competitive fear of society. Rollins should not be the one who wins the Lesnar title at SummerSlam, and this defeat that unfolds in just two weeks could have given "The Architect" a solid opportunity in case of defeat. Not to mention the surprise of Lesnar's presence after the music was teased over and over in the past was a nice touch to all of this. This may not have sparked a keen interest in seeing Rollins Vs. Lesnar in Toronto, but it certainly recalled the fact that Lesnar is the most destructive force in WWE. Grade: B +

The Samoan summit becomes chaotic

Prior to the main segment of the Samoan Summit event, Samoa Joe had attacked Roman Reigns from behind while he was attending The Usos after being beaten backstage by Gallows & Anderson behind the scenes. this was going on as Rollins was (almost) dragged into the ambulance to get out of the arena. Joe hit the ring and immediately asked to fight, and Reigns was more than happy to oblige. The two men fought around the ring before Drew McIntyre, Cedric Alexander, CO and Usos were involved. The chaos ensued naturally, which meant that Alexandre was jumping on the collection of bodies located above the titantron in a memorable moment. The babyfaces stood tall to finish Raw Monday night after knocking Joe out of the ring via The Usos 'stereo superkicks, followed by Reigns' spear.

The reality is that the series would probably have ended Monday night with Lesnar's Rollins beatdown, unlike this segment that has set up a multi-player match tag at SummerSlam … I think? At least, that seemed to be what all that entailed. It was a fun little brawl, of course, and it was nice to see Alexander shine again as part of a main event. But other than that, it was simply misplaced in the three hours allotted Monday night. Grade: C-

What happened to Raw?

  • Championship 24/7 – R-Truth & Carmella def. Drake Maverick & Renee Michelle in a mixed team match of Mosh Pit retain the title for Truth, who rolled Maverick for the win in Monday's first game. Subsequently, the plethora of superstars that surrounded the outside entered the ring and piled on Truth, the referee counting three for the new champion 24/7 …
  • Championship 24/7 – Mike Kanellis def. R-Truth via pinfall to win the title when he came out of the winning fray. Kanellis then pushed him to the rear with the pursuit of superstars. He found an office of officials in which to hide and, while the superstars wanted to enter, Maria introduced herself and simulated a pregnancy problem to get them to disperse. She was finally left in the door even though the new champion 24/7 was skeptical that it was his wife who was asking for entry.
  • Ricochet def. Andrade via a break in a glove match after a 630 to win a match for the United States title at SummerSlam against AJ Styles. In an after-game interview with Kayla Braxton in the ring, Ricochet said that everyone would believe when he would hold the American title above his head. Styles were shown watching behind the scenes on a monitor laughing at the complaint. Order of eliminations: Rey Mysterio def. Cesaro falling, Rey Mysterio def. Sami Zayn falling, Andrade def. Rey Mysterio falling, Ricochet def. Andrade via pin
  • Championship 24/7 – Maria Kanellis def. Mike Kanellis via pinfall to win the title. Maria ordered Mike to get on his back when she called a referee, saying that she wanted their unborn child to have a real champion as a parent. She put one foot on her husband for the 1-2-3 titles and the title, and then mocked the half-card superstars who stood out because … the whole question of pregnancy makes so that she's stuck slightly difficult.
  • "A moment of happiness" revealed an incident that occurred earlier in the day between Becky Lynch and Natalya. Alexa Bliss broadcast footage of Natalya's training with Fit Finlay and three other women in the ring before Raw, explaining how to counter the Dis-Arm-Her. Lynch arrived and blamed his compatriot Finlay for being a "traitor" before hitting Nattie's Dis-Arm-Her. Lynch then appeared on the screen and told Bliss to be ready for their match later in the night.
  • Raw Tag Team Championship – The good brothers def. The Usos (via pinfall) and The Revival via pinfall to win the titles after Gallows & Anderson hit the Magic Killer on Jimmy Uso in chaos towards the end of the match. After the victory, Gallows & Anderson met Styles behind the scenes for a celebration ready to welcome his "OC" buddies.
  • The Viking Raiders def. Cole Carter & Johnny James (development talent) via pinfall in a squash match with the Viking experience.
  • Becky Lynch def. Alexa Bliss via package after Bliss (kayfabe) injured his ankle and could not continue. After the match, Nikki Cross started chewing with Lynch and challenged him to play his own match.
  • Becky Lynch def. Nikki Cross by the way after the Manhandle Slam. Bliss then miraculously recovered by attacking Lynch from behind before Cross and she trample on the champion in the corner. Natalya was absent, but obviously not for the backup. She slapped Lynch in the Sharpshooter to earn some reward earlier in the day. Behind the scenes, Natalya seemed to challenge Lynch in a match against the title game in front of her opponent at SummerSlam, but she pulled out at the end.
  • Braun Strowman has interrupted a photo session of Maria Kanellis behind the scenes. After Maria explained to Strowman what a pregnant woman was, she told him to show him how tall and strong he was and he scolded to end the segment.
