With WrestleMania 37 scheduled to take place this weekend, the WWE Championship photo of Raw took center stage as WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and challenger Drew McIntyre found themselves wrestling during of the Raw start show before WrestleMania. Lashley was looking to send his second former Hurt Business member in as many weeks when he hired Cedric Alexander. Additionally, McIntyre faced off against SmackDown’s King Corbin after the latter’s assault on McIntyre last week.

Lashley says McIntyre’s time is ‘over’
Drew McIntyre kicked off the night and reflected on the year that has passed as WrestleMania approaches. McIntyre said it would be the “biggest fight of our lives” and that he and Bobby Lashley would tear each other apart. He said his goal was to come to WWE and become a WWE Champion, and that he didn’t have the luxury of coming home. McIntyre said his mother inspired him to keep moving forward even after being initially fired by WWE. He asked Lashley how he could ‘beat a man who sacrifices everything’. He has vowed to reclaim the WWE Championship.
Lashley interrupted McIntyre and said McIntyre’s time was up. He said he saw the fear in McIntyre’s eyes when he put him in the Hurt Lock last week, and that there was nothing McIntyre could do about it. McIntyre responded by saying the two should fight now, but MVP said that is not happening. MVP has said McIntyre will ultimately lose the game, but that will happen on Saturday. McIntyre proclaimed he would “destroy” Lashley and regain his WWE title. MVP told McIntyre he might not even make it to WrestleMania until King Corbin is released.
Corbin said he doesn’t know why McIntyre is worried about WrestleMania because he might not make it. He added that he plans to defeat McIntyre, so there won’t be a WrestleMania for him.
Drew McIntyre beats. King Corbin via pinfall with a Claymore. McIntyre came out seeking to dominate Corbin as he showed his physicality throughout the match. MVP commented during the match and handed his cane to Corbin to take out McIntyre. However, McIntyre managed to get around the cane and claim the victory. After the match, Lashley came out and McIntyre stared at him. McIntyre pointed to the WrestleMania sign as Raw stopped broadcasting.
McIntyre had to stand up straight ahead of WrestleMania to give babyface a boost. Obviously, McIntyre wasn’t losing this game, and having the MVP attempt to throw his cane at Corbin was a good idea. Now the stage is set for two behemoths to battle it out at WrestleMania in a match that should be an absolute classic. Category B
What else happened on WWE Raw?
- Xavier Woods beats. AJ styles via pinfall. Kofi Kingston caused a distraction by throwing the microphone at Omos. Omos continued and ended up stepping onto the ring apron. Styles ended up being distracted and Woods rolled him up for the win.
- Braun Strowman beats. Elias and Jaxson Ryker via pinfall with powerslams running. Ahead of the game, Strowman said Shane McMahon didn’t know what he got into. Strowman said when the steel cage door closed he was locked in with a monster. At WrestleMania, Strowman promised McMahon would leave in a body bag. McMahon came out and said that a steel cage match is “not that stupid”, and he will outsmart Strowman in their steel cage match. After WrestleMania, McMahon said Strowman would feel “stupid” after losing.
- Miz and John Morrison smeared red paint on Bad Bunny’s white Bugatti. Bad Bunny returned to his car to check on as Miz ambushed him. Miz and Morrison then beat Bad Bunny. Later in the series, Damian Priest and Bad Bunny challenged Miz and John Morrison to a tag team match at WrestleMania. Miz and Morrison accept the challenge.
- Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax fight. Asuka and Rhea Ripley via pinfall after Baszler hits a knee on Asuka. Baszler and Jax focused on Ripley’s left leg after she favored it earlier in the game. After Asuka was brought back inside, Ripley pushed Asuka from the top rope out and slammed her to the ground before sending her back into the ring.
- Uproar women’s team match made official for WrestleManja. The teams will include Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose, Lana and Naomi, Natalya and Tamia, and The Riott Squad. The winning team will become the # 1 contender for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.
- Bobby Lashley defeats. Cedric Alexander via submission with the Hurt Lock. Benjamin immediately jumped into the ring to try and beat Lashley. Lashley, however, administered another Hurt Lock to Benjamin and “The Almighty” rose once more.
- Riddle def. Mustafa Ali via pinfall with Bro Derek. As Riddle grabbed Ali, he watched his WrestleMania opponent, Sheamus, who was sitting ringside in the comments.
