– WWE RAW tonight opens on a video tribute from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This video includes a hi-ten bells.
– We are live from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, while fans are encouraging the video. Michael Cole welcomes us. He is accompanied by Renee Young and Corey Graves.
– We go to the ring to the sound of music, WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar with Paul Heyman. Mike Rome makes the presentation as Cole surfs Finn Balor against Lesnar at WWE Royal Rumble on Sunday.
Fans are booting much harder than usual for Lesnar who stands there. Others are singing for Suplex City. Heyman introduces his client and says it's time to get to work. Heyman explains how Finn Balor pinned John Cena last week. Heyman says it was not a coincidence nor a controversy. He says that Balor seized the moment, so much so that Cena, the second greatest player of all time, took the microphone in his hands and said he believed in Balor. Heyman says and he should believe in Balor. Heyman said that the WWE universe had come together in unison and had said he also believed in Balor. Heyman says and they should. Heyman says that he also believes in Balor. Heyman says that Balor has seized the moment on Cena and that this seems to be the theme of his entire career. Heyman says Balor thinks he'll show up at Chase Field this Sunday and do exactly the same thing, capitalizing on fate and circumstances. Heyman mentions how Lesnar was trained for Braun Strowman, but he now has to defend himself against an opponent for whom he has never been trained, and on an opponent whose style is different from that of Strowman. Heyman goes on to say that his client will turn Balor into a martyr Sunday, sacrificed for sin to make everyone believe that he can defeat the invincible conqueror. For the sin of believing that he has what it takes to take what Brock has. For the sin of believing that when it comes to the historical title of Lesnar, this Balor is the Slim Reaper.
Heyman goes on to say that it's a ridiculous idea that Balor even belongs to the ring with The Beast. He says it will be Balor on his back this Sunday, looking up and saying that he believes in Lesnar. Lesnar wins the title, but the music interrupts and WWE President Vince McMahon becomes a pop.
Vince says Heyman is a little soft, a little nice here tonight. Vince says the only way to believe in this game is to believe in the old story of David & Goliath. Heyman says that he has never read the Bible. Vince tells a wacky version of David & Goliath and says that David was never seen again until he reincarnated as Balor. Vince mentions that Balor has fans and they make pop. Vince gets a noise for mentioning the town but then calls them Hillbilly Land and they boo. Heyman says Vince is talking too fast for locals. Vince says that if anyone really believes that Balor can beat Brock, then they believe in fairy tales. The music interrupts and Braun Strowman comes out. Lesnar is getting ready for a fight.
Strowman stops at the ring and looks at Lesnar. Lesnar starts to laugh. Strowman slowly enters the ring but stops on the apron. Vince asks him what he's doing here. Lesnar bounces to "get those hands!" the song begins. Strowman straddles the top rope and Vince asks Lesnar to stop playing with Strowman. Strowman says that last week was one of the worst of his life, thanks to Baron Corbin. Corbin cost him $ 100,000 and the title with Lesnar. Strowman says last week was also the luckiest night of Lesnar's life. Strowman says that if Lesnar still has the title after Sunday, he will wait on the other side and he will tear Lesnar off as one of Vince's limousines. Vince calls Braun "the big boy" and says he's lucky to be still employed. Vince tells Braun to relax. The music sounds and Balor becomes a pop.
Balor says it's the same old Monday Night RAW. Braun here doing Braun things. Meanwhile, Balor is the guy who beat three others last week, including the biggest of all time, Cena. Heyman says Cena is the second biggest behind Lesnar. Balor says that he was lucky to face Lesnar. Balor knows that Vince does not think he can beat Brock. Vince says that he does not believe in fairy tales. Balor says that he believes and that the Balor club believes. Pop fans. Balor announced that he would defeat Lesnar and recover his universal title on Sunday. Strowman says that he knows he could have defeated Lesnar, but he does not know if Balor can, but Balor is much better. Balor thanks Braun for his support and tells him not to interfere with his business the next time, as he will do something Braun would never have done: beat Brock. Balor says that Vince has mixed history. Vince interrupts and silences him. Lesnar leaves the ring laughing. Balor corrects Vince on the story of David & Goliath and says that no one will laugh after Sunday. Vince offers Braun vs Balor for the moment. Vince says that should be very interesting. Vince's music hits as Balor and Strowman look at each other. Heyman and Lesnar are watching from the ring. We go to the commercial.
Braun Strowman vs. Finn Balor
Back from the break and the match is underway. Braun Strowman knocks first. Finn Balor returns as Brock Lesnar looks from the ring with Paul Heyman. Braun with more blows until he kicks a kick. Balor ends up delivering a slap. Strowman comes back and takes it away while Lesnar smiles. Braun expels Balor from the ring afterwards.
Strowman follows and runs over Balor with one shoulder on the outside. Braun takes him back to the ring and splashes Balor in the corner. Strowman picks Balor but he slips. Braun pursues with a big splash in the corner for a count of 2. Braun keeps control and returns Balor out of the ring. Strowman follows him and charges, but Balor catches him with a Slingblade. Balor returns to the ring when the referee counts. Strowman returns but Balor begins to attack.
Strowman grabs Balor halfway and retrieves him, but Balor gets on his back with a sleeper. Lesnar looks smiling. Braun crushes Balor in the corner to break him. Balor returns with another sleeper, bringing Braun back to one knee. Balor is now discharging with his elbows. Balor with a blow in the chest. Balor goes to the top for Coup de Grace but Braun goes up and catches her by the throat. Braun sends Balor to the ground but lands in Lesnar's arms.
Lesnar throws Balor on the head with a big suplex. Pop fans. Lesnar takes back the title and climbs on the apron, fixing Braun. Braun nods. Lesnar puts the title on the mat, but Balor manages to clear it and hits it in the foreground on the deck. Balor drops Lesnar. Balor enters and runs the ropes, jumping down to land Lesnar. Braun continues Balor in the ring. Balor unloads and hits a slingblade. Balor goes down again Lesnar and Lesnar is stunned now. Balor loads and drops Lesnar in the barrier.
Braun pulls Balor into the ring by the neck and throws him through the ring. Braun runs in the ring. Balor drops Balor in the corner. Balor goes to the top for Coup de Grace and hits. Lesnar runs into the ring and drops Balor with an F5 for disqualification.
Winner by DQ: Finn Balor
– After the bell, the fans booed Lesnar while he stands and takes the title of Heyman. Lesnar looks down at Balor and Strowman at the sound of his music. Lesnar makes his exit with Heyman.
– Upcoming, Ronda Rousey and Natalya against Bayley and Sasha Banks, plus Seth Rollins against Drew McIntyre and a celebration for new WWE Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley. We go to the commercial.
– Back from the break and the hype of advertisers Royal Rumble and the WWE network.
– We're going into the ring and the new WWE Intercontinental Champion, Bobby Lashley, on the occasion of his championship celebration. Lio Rush is with him. We see a recovery in the way Lashley beat Seth Rollins and former champion Dean Ambrose last week.
Rush picks up the microphone and says that not only is Lashley better than Ambrose and Rollins, he's better than everyone in the locker room. Rush is wearing the title on his shoulder and there is a short red platform in the middle of the ring. Rush says that they are not there to launch an open challenge because these are for kids. Lashley is a professional fighter and they do not do it for fun, but for their money. He says that they came here to celebrate a better way than to let Lashley get on this podium and show off his physique. Rush says he's going to place the title on Lashley's size. He calls the lights and they go down. Rush places the title on Lashley's waist but the music interrupts and leaves Apollo Crews.
The teams congratulate Lashley for winning the title. Crews gives props to Lashley and says that no one pays their hard-earned money to see Lashley pose, they want to see him compete. The crews know that it will not be a match for the title, but that they would do well. Rush interrupts and says that the crews do not belong to us, he's not even in the Lashley league. Rush says that if crews can beat Lashley in a pose-pose, then maybe he can get the match. The teams say that he does not even know how to ask. Rush says that according to his record, Crews also does not know how to be a champion. We have a break now. Rush has Lashley on the podium while the lights go out again. Rush tells Lashley to hit us with double biceps. Crews then climbs onto the podium and dances around a few, then poses as pop fans. It's Lashley's turn again while the fans are booing him. Rush tells Lashley to hit them with the side pose on his chest. Lashley mostly gets boos.
Crews dance again and are acclaimed. Lashley poses again. The crews then climb and pose but Lashley drops him off the podium. Lashley attacks but Crews throws him out of the ring. Rush charges but Crews catches him and throws him over the top rope on Lashley. Teams pose for pop when we go back to advertising.
Apollo Crews vs. Bobby Lashley
Back from the break, this untitled match is underway. Bobby Lashley with a big slam for an account 2 on Apollo Crews. Lio Rush encourages him from the ring. Lashley bads Crews around the corner and nails a big push.
Lashley takes Crews to the top, but Crews sends him to the mat. Crews come back with more attack and a kip for a pop. The teams go to the top but have to roll through as Lashley moves. Crews gets the upper hand and runs Lashley for a total of 2. The teams raise Lashley again but he falls. Crews again presses Lashley and drops him on the carpet. Rush climbs on the apron now, distracting everyone. Lashley avoids standing, but Crews comes back and drops him with the enziguri.
Rush rises again on the apron and mixes but Crews presses it high in the air. The teams, still with Rush in the air, turn to a big Lashley spear. Lashley covers for the pin to win.
Winner: Bobby Lashley
– After the match, Rush and Lashley celebrate in the ring with the title. The music interrupts and Seth Rollins turns into a big pop. Lashley looks from the ring. Lashley climbs the ramp with Rush, stopping to watch Rollins down as he heads for the ring. Rush makes fun of Rollins and we go to the commercial.
– Back from the break, Seth Rollins is in the ring with a microphone. Rollins says we can learn a lot from MLK, and then quote Dr. King.
Rollins remembers when he had his two brothers with him and two titles. Now he has 0 title and a broken family. But he still has his first and last love, the fans. Rollins states that he will win the Royal Rumble Match Sunday in Phoenix. Rollins knows that it's a long-term plan, but he does not care, because his whole life has been a long shot. Rollins goes on to explain that he was not supposed to be here, he's not as big as Drew McIntyre or Bobby Lashley, he's just a kid from a small town who could work in a factory or farm, but that's the only reason he does not do it It's because of his heart, his pbadion, his love and his determination, no matter how you want to call it. Rollins says it's not in his chest, it's etched in his soul. He continues and promises that he will be the last man standing at Rumble. The music hits and leaves McIntyre.
Drew says he's going to hit Rollins' head and beat him tonight, but he thought he'd have to make a rebuttal. Drew says he's honest and that he can not stand while Rollins lies to himself and to people. Drew says that there is a 0% chance that Rollins wins the Rumble because of his style. Drew says that Rollins flies without any regard for his body and he will be eliminated. Drew asks what happens if you take all that heart and put it in a Terminator over six feet, then you get Drew McIntyre. Drew continues and hopes the Rumble returns to him and Rollins so that he can look Rollins in the eyes before throwing him, so Rollins will have to hear Drew announced as the winner. Drew's music sounds again as they face each other in the middle of the ring. Back to commercial.
Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins
Back from the break, Seth Rollins made a big dive on Drew McIntyre at the very beginning. Back now. Rollins sends Drew to the ground and jumps up but Drew moves and Rollins lands on the fence.
Drew brings her back to the ring for 2 points. Drew keeps Rollins on the ground now that Cole talks about John Cena's ankle injury, which put his Rumble status in the air. Drew with more offense and a 2 charge leader. Drew is now working in the ring as fans try to rally Rollins. Rollins is badped in the corner and he lands on the shoulder. Drew with another 2 count. Rollins tries to attack but Drew kicks off the ribs. Drew follows Rollins to the ground and catapults him hard to the ground. Drew looks down at Rollins as we go back to the commercials.
Back from the break and they go there. Rollins with a sling. Rollins keeps control and hits a blockbuster from the corner. Drew avoids a Buckle Bomb and gets 2 points. Rollins returns for a tight count. Drew avoids the Stomp but Rollins markers with a Falcon arrow for a count of 2.
Rollins gets up first and gets ready for Stomp as fans sing "Burn it!" now. Rollins hits Drew in the stomach but misses the Stomp. Rollins comes back and sends Drew to the corner. Rollins takes Drew up but Drew back gives him a nudge to the mat. Rollins returns and Drew hangs in the tree of misfortune. Rollins climbs but Drew gets stronger and rolls Rollins to the mat. Rollins lands on his feet. Drew with another big counter. Drew charged with a kick Claymore, but he has a big kick from Rollins. Rollins with a close account 2. Fans sing "it's great!" now. They get up and exchange punches and chops. They are now unloading in the middle of the ring. Drew with a big nod Glasgow Kiss. They are both down now.
Drew goes up with Rollins on the back for the great smell. Rollins always starts at 2 o'clock. Drew responds with a downward attack for a close count. Rollins against a clothesline and rolls Drew for the pin to win from nowhere.
Winner: Seth Rollins
– After the match, Rollins hits the ground and smiles at Drew as his music is heard. We are going to replay.
– Upcoming, Rousey and Natalya versus Banks and Bayley.
– The Revival is behind the scenes and talks to Vince McMahon about the existence of a conspiracy against them recently. Scott Dawson is still proposing a RAW team title shot and Dash Wilder says a special referee has a 20/20 vision and can call him directly to the center. Curt Hawkins is approaching and it looks like he wants a Royal Rumble square. Vince will make Hawkins the special referee for the title shot of The Revival. Vince goes away while The Revival is trying to suck Hawkins. Back to commercial.
– Back from the break, Dean Ambrose is behind the scenes. He said that a certain architect had quoted MLK earlier tonight and that it was cute, that even caused him a tear to the eye. Ambrose quotes MLK on the injustice and says that the fact that he is no longer champion of the WWE Intercontinental is a great injustice. Ambrose is anxious to see champion Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins at the Rumble this Sunday, as he comes straight to them and will eliminate them both. Ambrose says that 2018 was not his year. Ambrose must win the Rumble and declare that it will be his moment, he will own the Road to WrestleMania. Ambrose says justice will be done on Sunday.
Jinder Mahal and Singh Brothers vs. Lucha House Party
We are going into the ring and the six Superstars are already out. Lince Dorado starts with Jinder Mahal.
Jinder takes Lince in a corner and works it. Jinder blocks a counter and slams Lince. Samir Singh enters and keeps control, slamming a dropkick. Sunil Singh mingles with the background. Kalisto adds and makes the double team at Singh with Dorado. Kalisto with 2 counts of accusation. Kalisto keeps control until Sunil sends it to the ground. Jinder scores and brings back Kalisto for a total of 2. Jinder and the Singh brothers keep control with tags to keep Kalisto on the ground. Sunil keeps Kalisto to the ground now.
Sunil prevents Kalisto from scoring. Sunil drops Lince out of the ring but he turns around for a powerful Kalisto shot. Gran Metalik marks and releases Sunil. He drops Jinder and Samir off the apron. Metalik with a knee in the spine so that the pin wins out of nowhere on Sunil.
Winners: Lucha House Party
– After the match, Lucha House Party celebrates the success of their music. Jinder loses his inner peace at the edge of the ring.
– Cole brings us to a video package on EC3. We see EC3 backstage posing now. Dana Brooke approaches and says that he looks great. She asks him for formatting tips, but he remains silent while Elias arrives. He shakes his head and continues walking towards the ring. Back to commercial.
