Before following this path with my criticism, yes, Brock Lesnar is a phenomenal wrestler. He is really amazing when he is present at Raw. I concede all this in advance, okay?
Well. Because my God, how refreshing Is it when we have an episode like this where the whole theme of the show was centered on the best championship?
First of all, I thought Daniel Bryan was perfectly managed in Seattle. They did not try to make him a bad guy in front of his audience; instead, he did Seattle heels just with him! Ah, my people! People who are really smart and get what I'm trying to do. Unfortunately, the world is not as smart as you, but thankfully you help me, right?
Bryan had loud applause, of course. And it also solidifies the distance he has traveled with this "bigger" rabbit hole. Erik Rowan actually said this in his article by saying what they were trying to do, it was with "the best intentions in the world" and denigrating those who did not believe exactly what they were doing. This is a dangerous logic and something so commonly used nowadays.
(By the way, Rowan, you have to stop wearing the group shirts that I like if you want me to hate you.) If you wear an Eluveitie shirt next week, I'll scream in real life. In fact, they would also enter the argument in favor of the land … hmm.)
As for the contenders for Bryan, Mustafa Ali killed him. He had a match with Randy Orton on this show where he had to fight to be encouraged. Orton has always had a positive reaction from some of the crowd and Ali did a great job in making fire and bringing the crowd to his side. This minnow really helped his outsider aesthetics, by the way. The only thing I would say he could do better is to be a bit more creative in attack, but I imagine it will come to the House.
By the way, how did this top false rope push Orton to try to get a RKO, by the way ?!
For the rest of the contenders, AJ Styles is questioning Jeff Hardy's place in the House and Samoa Joe is an unbalanced maniac who will do everything in his power to win this championship. This match for Elimination Chamber is going really well and everyone clicks for the moment.
Things that can happen when the main championship is around, huh?
The rest of SmackDown Live
Becky Lynch attacks another boss – Yes, I'm afraid Lynch behaves the way she is right now because she's vulnerable. Hitting Stephanie and Triple H is just one way to try to convince yourself that she is fine when she is not. I like the way Triple H has driven it this time, though; it would have been nonsense had he followed the same path as his wife after Lynch hit her.
I think it also works a lot better at SmackDown than Raw, because there are a lot more fireworks on SDL these days, is not it? It's as if I'd hit Raw last night. he was missing the fire, which usually comes from someone like Lynch.
Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura def. The club – It's pure foolishness for the Club to get the reaction it has, even though it has not done anything remarkable since … a year. That's honestly their talent, and it shows how much better the team division of SmackDown is. Rusev and Nakamura started to be on the same page towards the end of the match, so I expected them to settle in the division for a while.
Andrade wants to defeat the myth of Rey Mysterio – I hope we will have more stuff from the Andrade / Mysterio feud this week, but I can not complain too much. The framing here is good, at least; Andrade must repress Mysterio forever to win. And that's it, is not it? I would not be surprised if Andrade did it before moving brutally to Raw.
Where is Asuka? – I do not know what to think of Asuka for not having been watching television for the last two weeks. I know that they want to keep her away from Lynch, but I mean … she beat Lynch at the Royal Rumble. It's a bad service for her to treat her that way. And there are other options than talking about Lynch, you know; a match against local talent, intimidate someone behind the scenes …
Usos make a promo – I liked this promo! They were promoting a "McMiz TV" segment next week with the champions saying basically that yes, the champions quickly became friends. But this relationship has not really been put to the test and Usos clearly have an advantage in this regard. I thought it was a good idea to add to their inevitable game.
Fire and desire def. The IIconics, Carmella and Naomi – This match was good. He was thrown together to promote the match of the Women's Elimination Chamber and he only somehow existed on this show. Good for soft entertainment. Mandy Rose still has one on Naomi to seal the victory.
It was a solid show! Do not get me wrong, nothing "not to be missed" happened, but we have solid stories and a good composition for the Men's Elimination Chamber match.
That said, these shows need to start to have big moments as we get closer to WrestleMania. I'm not in the notes yet, but I'm about to start if the WWE fails to increase anticipation.
