WWE SmackDown results: live recap, Universal Title fallout after Fastlane headlines

[ad_1]

After Roman Reigns managed to hold onto his Universal Title against Daniel Bryan at last Sunday’s Fastlane – but not before he punched without the referee witnessing it – WWE is promising the Fastlane spinoff on SmackDown Friday night.

Reigns endured the toughest test of his title reign against Bryan, going on hold and blow for blow throughout the game before being linked with Bryan’s Yes Lock. With the referee knocked out, along with an Edge Special Executor, Reigns tapped the hold. Edge, enraged at an inadvertently downed chair by Bryan, gave Bryan some profit to break the hold, allowing Reigns to crawl and cover for the win.

SmackDown will likely see all three men deal with the situation, with Bryan likely looking to be included in the already scheduled WrestleMania match to feature Edge, a belt challenge.
