Before the fight for the launch of WrestleMania Sunday, Paul Heyman – Lesnar's screen defender – arrived in the ring and proclaimed that if his client could not attend the main event to close the series, he might as well do business early so that Lesnar can return to Las Vegas where he is ultimately appreciated. "Lesnar threw himself on Rollins even before the challenger could enter the ring, continually erasing it on the outside.

The bell ended up ringing to officially start the match for the all-around title, and Lesnar was able to inflict even more damage by taking Rollins to Suplex City. The referee is however unfit, Rollins wins the advantage with a low blow to the champion. After three devastating Curb Stomps, Rollins achieved what many considered impossible by winning the 1-2-3 to win the World Championship – again, as he had promised.

The defeat against WrestleMania 35 is only Lesnar's second loss since the amazing Survivor Series race against Goldberg in November 2016. The other player who has been victorious over Lesnar since then is of course Roman Reigns, who beat Lesnar at SummerSlam 2018 to also win the universal title. Rollins is the first WWE superstar weighing less than 250 pounds to beat Lesnar via a fallen or a submission since Eddie Guerrero in 2004.

Lesnar losing the title to open WrestleMania, attention is now turning to his future. According to rumors that the "Beast Incarnate" would return to the UFC to face defending heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in August, the door is now much more open for Lesnar to return to the ranks of the MMA for the purpose to win back the The UFC Heavyweight Championship title, which he has organized as one of the biggest draws of the promotion ever seen.
