Xiaomi renews its roots: with the Redmi Go, the Chinese manufacturer will launch soon its first smartphone with Android Go – and in Europe too. For the first time, the Redmi Go has been offering for years a smartphone with a price below 80 euros.

The Xiaomi Redmi Go is equipped with absolute basic equipment, so it should primarily address all customers wishing to buy a smartphone for the first time. In order to achieve such a low price in Europe, to comply with the requirements of the Android Go program, there are some compromises, which mainly concern the working flash memory and the internal flash memory. The biggest limitation is probably that RAM is only 1 GB in size.

The Redmi Go is a 5.0-inch IPS screen in the clbadic 16: 9 format, offering a relatively high resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Under the hood, we are dealing with the former Snapdragon 425 from Qualcomm, a 1.4GHz quad-core SoC based on four ARM Cortex-A53 cores. In addition to the gigabyte of RAM, eight gigabytes of internal flash memory on the card can be expanded with the microSD card slot.
