The government has already set up a committee to develop development plans for the new regions after the mbadive unanimous endorsement received in the six areas that it is proposed to split from the ten existing regions when of the referendum of December 27, 2017.
A total of 120 million Ghanaian cedis was also allocated in the Government's budget and economic policy for 2019 to the six regions as seed capital.
Each region would receive 20 million Ghanaian cedis for critical infrastructure to allow the new regions to take off smoothly.
The results of referendums being favorable, Article 5 (8) of the 1992 Constitution enjoins the government to promulgate a constitutional instrument giving effect to the results of referendums on the creation of new regions.
