The Ashanti Regional Police launched a manhunt for four people suspected of being involved in the shooting.

In an interview with Peace FM News, ASP's interim Godwin Ahianyo, a member of the interim regional police, explained that the four suspects suspected of being behind the attack would belong to to the NDC self-defense group, "Hawks".

"The suspects who are currently on the list of people wanted by the police are Husein Barnabas, also known as Warrior, Mijima, Damos and Abu Taliban," he said.

This raid comes after the attack of members of the NDC's executive committee and supporters at the Kumasi regional office on Feb. 18, at a lively meeting of national and regional party executive leaders.

He added that the police worked closely with party officials to apprehend the suspects.

Meanwhile, NDC Secretary General Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the party would not protect the perpetrators.

"We have indicated that the crime does not have a party color. We do not know who perpetrated these acts, but because of the presence of the eyewitness, I am confident that the police will have no difficulty in getting people to identify the culprits. Whoever did this should be arrested and treated in accordance with the law … we will not protect any criminal from the NDC. Whoever is involved in this crime, be it a parrot, an eagle or a hawk, the law must go through.
