Hundreds of Yorubaland secessionist agitators stormed Ibadan, capital of Oyo state, on Wednesday, demanding that the extradition of Yoruba freedom fighter, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho to Nigeria is not granted by the Beninese government for any reason. .
The protest that started at his residence in Soka Ibadan disrupted movement of vehicles on main roads through the surrounding area as they took to the streets, calling for Igboho’s freedom with their various placards bearing different inscriptions. , warning the federal government of Nigeria not to infringe Igboho’s right to liberty.
They added that Igboho had not committed any offense and as such he should be allowed to roam freely without being kicked out.

In an interview with reporters, protest leader Yusuf Ajikobi said it was unfair that the Yoruba nation agitator was being held outside Nigerian jurisdiction, vowing that the unrest would not end. would not stop until their demands were met.
He said: “He is fighting for a real class and we all support his agitation. We are here to call on the Beninese government not to extradite the Igboho to the Nigerian government.
“They should allow him to seek asylum in Germany. Yoruba cannot continue to suffer. We are tired of the way the shepherds are killing our farmers in the southwest and raping our daughters. We demand our freedom. May Igboho Sunday be. Let him move freely, let him enjoy his freedom.
“Help us ask Buhari and his people; what is Igboho’s offense? He asked the Fulani shepherds killing and raping our people to leave; is this an offense? Buhari’s federal government knows the whereabouts of the bandits and Boko Haram leaders, but they ignore them, preferring to use Nigeria’s resources to kidnap peace-loving people and put them in jail.
“This government has watched a northern clerk, novelist of the bandits, visit them in the forest, but this government still claims not to know where the bandits are.
“We call on our southwestern governors and our Yoruba monarchs to stand up and fight for the people who put them in place. It is not a crime if someone asks for an end to oppression. The federal government is pushing too far in the way it deals with the issues of Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu. “
Recall that Igboho was arrested at Cadjèhoun airport in Cotonou, in the Republic of Benin, around Monday evening by security agents in this West African country and therefore detained.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian government had since pushed for his extradition to Nigeria, but many individuals and groups opposed the move.
