You are not God, says Secondus in Buhari

Uche Secondus, the national president of the People's Democratic Party, on Tuesday condemned President Muhammadu Buhari for threatening to kill anyone who took the ballot on election day, saying President Buhari was not God.

Mr. Secondus also congratulated the president for issuing an "order of destruction" against his "compatriots for elections", wondering if the president thought he was God.

Secondus made the statement at the PDP's National Executive Committee meeting, NEC, on Tuesday.

President Buhari warned Nigerians

He had asked the army and the police to mercilessly treat anyone who took the ballot box in Saturday's election.

He had stated: "I informed law enforcement and the army. They identified hot spots, critical points.

"They should be ready to move. We have put in place the most possible arrangements and resources provided to the extent of the country's financial means.

"Anyone who decides to tear off ballot boxes or ask thugs to disturb her is perhaps the last legal action you can take.

"I really gave the order to the army and the police to be ruthless. We will not be accused of wanting to rig elections. I want Nigerians to be respected. Let them vote as they see fit, in all parties.

"I will warn anyone who thinks he has enough influence in his locality to lead a group of thugs or disrupt the electoral system, he will do it at the expense of his own life."

But, condemning the president for this statement, the PDP's national president said Buhari was insensitive to the killings in the country.

He accused the president of even training his party members against each other solely to achieve his presidential ambition.

He also said that God was going to overthrow President Buhari.

According to him, "Why do you want to kill your compatriots for the good conduct of the elections, so that you become president?

"You know you are not God. Buhari, I am addressing you, you know you are not God and I am convinced that God will overthrow you because all your actions over the last three years are against the Nigerian people.

"Hunger, murder, unemployment, you're not sensitive, when they kill in Plateau, you can not make such a deep statement, but when it concerns you, you want people to die to be president ?

"Even in your party, you divided your party in Imo, you divided your party in Ogun State just for you to be a president? and that's how you divided the nation. "
